Job Overview

Recovery Collectors review and collect on charged-off accounts including; skipping and locating all information to pursue legal action and utilize judgements for garnishments and liens.

Major Responsibilities

• Contact charge off accounts by telephone and mail; recommend and take appropriate action

• Work with existing accounts assigned to third party collection agencies as well as accounts that are with retained counsel

• Follow up on all previously assigned accounts with third party and attorney offices; in addition, bankruptcy accounts that are not discharged

• Maintain accurate files and reports on all collections activity

• Inform management of trends in loan underwriting contributing to delinquent/charged off loans

• Testify at legal proceedings as required

Position Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent

• One to three years of similar or related experience

• Must be able to operate a PC and related software programs with accuracy and speed

• Physical qualifications include standing or sitting at a computer for extended periods of time and the ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds

• Collections experience is preferred

• Active listening and outstanding interpersonal skills are required to effectively communicate with employees and members both in person and by phone
