Job Overview
Recovery Collectors review and collect on charged-off accounts including; skipping and locating all information to pursue legal action and utilize judgements for garnishments and liens.
Major Responsibilities
Contact charge off accounts by telephone and mail; recommend and take appropriate action
Work with existing accounts assigned to third party collection agencies as well as accounts that are with retained counsel
Follow up on all previously assigned accounts with third party and attorney offices; in addition, bankruptcy accounts that are not discharged
Maintain accurate files and reports on all collections activity
Inform management of trends in loan underwriting contributing to delinquent/charged off loans
Testify at legal proceedings as required
Position Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent
One to three years of similar or related experience
Must be able to operate a PC and related software programs with accuracy and speed
Physical qualifications include standing or sitting at a computer for extended periods of time and the ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds
Collections experience is preferred
Active listening and outstanding interpersonal skills are required to effectively communicate with employees and members both in person and by phone
