Title: Records Sales Manager

Reports to: Director of Records Operations

Summary

The Records Sales Manager will serve as the primary sales force as well as high-level support for the Director of Records Operations. In a sales capacity, the Records Sales Manager will work in conjunction with the Storr Office Environments sales team and in alignment with company objectives to plan, develop, and implement sales and marketing strategies to drive the revenue and profit growth of the Records Management division.

Additionally, in providing support to the Director of Records Operations, the Records Sales Manager is responsible for assisting in developing a professional quality service team that will provide our customers with accurate and cost-effective services, overseeing the daily activities of the records management department, providing training, proper equipment, and a positive work environment to build a team of knowledgeable and experienced Records Coordinators. Skills needed for this position include high sales acumen, organization, supervision, training, procedure writing, quality control, spreadsheet, word processing, and warehousing. Good oral and written communication skills and excellent organizational skills are required.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop new customers in the areas of records storage (of paper records), confidential shredding, digital imaging, and data protection services.

  • Establish monthly, quarterly, and yearly revenue and profit goals with the Director of Records Operations.

  • Assist as needed with the planning, staffing, budgeting, scheduling, and management aspects of the department.

  • Assist team members as needed and work with them to resolve customer issues expediently.

  • Assist in developing the group's strategic vision and direction.

  • Assist with the department's operating processes and procedures to result in excellent customer service.

  • Understand and maintain customer contracts/ guidelines. Keep team members updated on contracts.

  • Establish personal relationships with key customers.

  • Develop strong relationships with Storr sales staff and managers.

  • Track key accounts and sales activities critical to team success.

  • Plan, develop, and implement sales and marketing strategies for growth.

Education and/or Experience

  • BSBA degree from an accredited University, or equivalent

  • Knowledge of records management

  • Established business connections

  • Knowledge of IT operations

  • Knowledge of and ideally history with SOC 2 compliance

  • Proven organizational and follow-through skills

  • Proven sales and target marketing skills

  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Confident, assertive, self-starter

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment

Supervisory Responsibilities

None currently, but the ability to manage and lead others will be critical; likely to have direct reports in the future

Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
