Job Responsibilities
Under limited supervision manages and coordinates a comprehensive system for the management and maintenance of all Department records under Records Management Services control. Resolves problems with information management, effective use of software and other information management resources, and researches/proposes enhancements to agency records programs.
Directs and supervises the activities of section personnel and provides on-going training to staff. Maintains the Department's Retention Schedule. Manages the changeover from paper to an electronic records management system.
Conducts quality control checks for document imaging processes. Develops, maintains and updates standard operating procedures. Implements and/or revises policy and procedures in accordance with set standards.
Serves as a liaison between the Central Records Office and Agency staff and with external entities. Represent the Department in court related issues when subpoenaed to do so.
Minimum and Additional Requirements
A high school diploma and experience in records management, information systems, or office administration.
Preferred Qualifications
A Bachelor's Degree and State Government records management experience. Knowledge of SC Public Records Act, automated records and information storage and retrieval systems.
