The Lancaster County Court is taking applications for a full time Records Clerk/Cashier position. This is an entry level clerical position.

Location:Lancaster County Court, Lincoln NE

Work schedule:8 - 5 M - F

Examples of Work

Work involves responsibility for performing a variety of clerical functions in a service area such as criminal/traffic, civil/small claims, or probate, guardian conservator and adoption, including responding to routine inquiries, filing, data entry, processing and issuing documents, receipting of fees/fine and other payments, and other general office duties including routine bookkeeping . May serve as backup bailiff. Work is performed under supervision and is reviewed for accuracy.

Qualifications / Requirements

REQUIREMENTS: High school graduation or equivalent plus two years of experience in an office setting. Higher education may be substituted for work experience on a year for year basis.

PREFERRED: The ability to speak Spanish is preferred but not required. At least one year of court/law office experience or experience in processing and/or accounting for cash payments.

OTHER: Successful completion of "on the job training" in JUSTICE (the statewide computer system) will be required within six months of hire.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Requirements include typing skills, computer and data entry skills; the ability to follow instructions, strong customer service skills and good phone manners. Some knowledge of standard bookkeeping/financial procedures and practices. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other court employees and the general public.

VIEW JOBS 5/21/2021 12:00:00 AM 2021-08-19T00:00 Description Essential Functions: The Records & Information Management (RIM) Specialist/Document Imaging Service Center (DISC) Supervisor shall work under the direct supervision of the Records Management Division Manager. The RIM/DISC Supervisor coordinates and administers activities for the document image service center which involve microfilm lab coordination with Lancaster County, document scanning and microform conversion. The Supervisor is the liaison with DISC clients and develops specifications for conversion and imaging projects. This role is responsible for quality control on customer projects and assesses needed resources. The Supervisor has responsibilities for coordinating activities in an effective manner. The Supervisor is a key resource in providing high level customer service to agencies and maintaining a satisfactory working relationship with all staff to meet agency and divisional goals. This role regularly interacts with agencies to present information management principles while guiding the creation and development of agency records retention schedules. In addition, other duties may be required to provide effective RIM services in the form of training and special projects in order to meet Secretary of State (SOS) agency goals. Job location is 440 South 8th, Downtown Hours: Monday - Friday 7:30 - 4:00 Examples of Work Oversee microfilm, scanning and microfiche areas * Assist with scheduling daily/weekly/monthly work and manage work flow to ensure deadlines are met * Resolve issues with agencies on various projects * Set up project specifications for document imaging, conversion projects, and data extraction * Operate production level scanner and imaging software to maintain production throughput, as needed * Coordinate technical support and assistance/education for agencies on software * Assure quality control on outgoing work * Attend training when available to stay current with technology changes and updates * Maintain accurate monthly statistics on work performed * Input requisition data for monthly billing * Utilize established guidelines to create and update records retention schedules. * Employ appropriate methods and tools such as; MS Office®, Website, PowerPoint, etc., to design, develop and deliver training modules and presentations. Qualifications / Requirements REQUIREMENTS: Associate's degree in a relevant field, OR 3 years progressively responsible experience in the records and information management field. Knowledge and experience with recordkeeping technology including imaging, micrographics and other electronic database systems. • Experience using PC/LAN and/or network technology tools. Effective use of Microsoft Office®, email systems, barcode scanning equipment and office equipment such as document scanners, printers and copiers. Ability to lead daily operations in the DISC area with minimal assistance. Administer and schedule daily/weekly/monthly workflow to assure monthly production targets are achieved. The supervisor shall be dependable with good work attendance; shall be conscientious and well organized; and must be able to lift up to 50 pounds for prolonged periods of time. The supervisor must maintain a neat and clean appearance for customer interaction. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of: * Records Management principles, practices and technologies. * Document Imaging hardware & software concepts. * Microsoft Office®, email systems and office equipment such as barcode scanners, document scanners, printers and copiers. Ability to: * Effectively and persuasively communicate effectively with divisional and agency staff to develop and maintain positive working relationships. * Perform high-level analysis to audit, assess, formulate and recommend modifications to agency records retention schedules. * Evaluate large and complex records processes for the purpose of making sound decisions; work independently on multifaceted assignments and produce excellent work products with minimal direction in a timely and accurate manner. * Provide state and local training to all agencies. * Maintain a valid Driver's License. * Travel to local state agency sites as needed to provide DISC services. * Ability to pass Criminal Justice Information System certification along with background check.
