This position is responsible for the assembly, analysis and other processing of inpatient or outpatient records.
Prepares discharged paper charts for scanning; assures only appropriate documents are to be scanned as part of the legal medical record
Analyzes medical records for completeness and accuracy according to department policy, hospital policy, and medical staff bylaws. Enter deficiencies in Meditech/Epic. Interact with Medical Staff and others to resolve questions/issues regarding chart completion requirements
Assures correct patient status in the HIS that matches the orders in the medical record
May assist with responding to patient inquiries regarding the patient portal and is knowledgeable in the functionality of the portal
May assist in answering the department telephone
Employees are expected to comply with all regulatory requirements, including Joint Commission Standards
Is familiar with organization, department and job specific Environment of Care areas, including Life Safety, Utilities Management, Hazardous Materials Communications, Emergency Preparedness, Infection Control and Medical Equipment Failure
Adheres to Standard Precautions as appropriate, which may include:
The use of protective barriers, as appropriate (e.g., gloves, masks, gowns, pocket masks, and/or safety glasses)
Handling and disposing of infectious waste appropriately
Hand washing as appropriate
Accepts and performs other work as assigned/assumes duties of others during absences when assigned
When applicable, employees must be able to adjust the essential functions they perform appropriately to the age of their patient/customer. Employees must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development and the knowledge and skills necessary to provide for the primary population of patients served in the department. Employees demonstrate the ability to alter care and patient/family education based on the age or developmental level of the patient.

High School Diploma or equivalency required
Must live within a daily commute distance to Boulder County, CO
