Job Responsibilities

  • Retrieves records from shelves using reports to disassemble institutional and central records, and sort for digital scanning.

  • Monitor inmate workers assigned to the records management area.

  • Use the intake list to retrieve records from shelves to send to Kirkland R&E.

  • Answer's phone and mail inquiries concerning data filed in records according to SCDC policy.

  • Assist in the processing of record requests, subpoenas, and pen PACS, and attorney general request in the allotted time given.

  • File in appropriate section of the central and warden record and assist with maintaining check in/out system.

  • Ensure all requests from general counsel and other government agencies are routed to the appropriate staff and institution in absence of supervisor.

  • Other duties as required by supervisor.

Minimum and Additional Requirements


State of South Carolina Minimum Requirements:

A high school diploma. Related clerical experience may be substituted for a high school diploma.

SCDC Minimum Requirements:
(or an acceptable equivalency as approved by the Division of State Human Resources).

  • A high school diploma.

  • Two (2) years of clerical experience;

OR

  • A degree may be substituted for the work experience.

Must have experience in the use of personal computer.
