The primary focus of the Larimer County Clerk & Recorder Recording Division is first and foremost the maintenance and integrity of the Larimer County Public Land Records. Serving a population of more than 300,000 citizens, our duties include imaging of documents for the permanent public record, as well as retrieval of those documents.

Responsibilities

  • Records, indexes and verifies appropriate data using departmental software to process each transaction; processes Civil Union and Marriage Licenses, collects fees and charges from the public and performs other applicable cashiering duties.

  • Operates cash tendering system, maintains cash drawers, enters check, cash, credit, and Automated Clearing House (ACH) payments accurately to ensure end of day balancing; balances and prepares deposit of individual cash drawer.

  • Effectively communicates fees, reasons for rejection, and policies and procedures verbally and in writing.

  • Maintains files and records as required by Colorado Revised Statutes.

  • Enforces Secure and Verifiable identification requirements.

  • Assists customers in person, over the phone, and through written correspondence.

  • Works within any Clerk & Recorder department when necessary.

  • Basic computer applications and ability to learn specialized recording systems and processes.

Qualifications:

  • One (1) year of experience in a directly related clerical field or in the performance of similar duties and responsibilities required.

  • Completion of a high school diploma required.

  • Meet requirements to become a Notary Public and a U.S. Passport Acceptance Agent required.

  • Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid Driver's License required.
