Brentwood Hospital is seeking an enthusiastic individual capable of exhibiting compassion and providing superior Service Excellence to join our team of receptionists.

The Receptionist/PBX Operator will facilitate the flow of organization information providing a positive, responsive environment for receiving internal and external customers via telephone and face-to-face interactions.

Responsibilities include:

  • Answers and responds to incoming telephone calls

  • Provides routine organization-related information to callers and visitors

  • Signs for, receives, and routes incoming mail, including courier deliveries

  • Provides back-up clerical support to various departments

  • Greets and responds to hospital visitors or incoming patients

This opportunity is available to individuals who meet the following requirements:

  • High school level reading and writing skill; basic arithmetic skills, skills in business English usage, excellent telephone etiquette and tact, pleasant and audible speech, with good enunciation, ability to operate switchboard console

  • Flexibility; ability to interact effectively with person of widely diverse roles, backgrounds, cultures, and socioeconomic classes, those in crises or resistant

  • Telephone Communications experience preferred

  • Must be able to concentrate on work amidst distractions such as noise, conversations and foot traffic

  • Must maintain self-control in volatile or hostile customer service interactions

  • Must have the ability to perform several tasks concurrently

  • Must have skills in maintaining information as highly confidential

  • Able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally; ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, lift & grasp
