Work Schedule

The Receptionist's schedule is subject to change (daily/weekly hours may increase or decrease) according to the needs of the company and will be based primarily in the dental office. Evening and weekend hours may be required. This position is paid on an hourly basis and paid on a bi-monthly basis (5th and 20th of the month).

Position Summary

The Receptionist will perform a variety of duties within the dental office but will focus primarily on ensuring that the front office runs smoothly and effectively while handling all temperaments of patients. Maintains an organized and neat desk area. Checks patient eligibility, answers the phone professionally and with a smile. Ensure all patient charts are ready, accurately prepared for the back-office team and then scanned in during the evening. The Receptionist will accomplish all of this while providing the highest level of patient experience and executing the Company's vision statement. The employee is occasionally required to reach; lift and/or move up to 15 pounds; and balance, stoop, bend, squat, kneel, twist, pull, and crouch. The essential functions of this position require specific vision abilities, including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma, General Education Development (GED)

  • Fluent in Spanish as our customer demographics are primarily Spanish speaking

  • Minimum 2 + yrs experience as receptionist and customer services environment

  • Handle patient issues professionally

  • Good interpersonal skills

  • Deal effectively with a diversity of individuals at all organizational levels

  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm

  • Detail-oriented, extremely organized and possess strong multi-tasking skills

  • Reliable and dependable; good follow-through skills


  • Promote the Company's Mission and Core Values so that people understand Why We Exist and How We Do Business.

  • Master the use of our Dentrix application system.

  • Work with the Office Manager and have weekly meetings to track performance, any issues, and needs.

  • Maintain a professional demeanor while on the phone or when responding via text to the patients or responsible party.

  • Greet and check in/check out each patient in a professional and welcoming manner

  • Prepare patient charts for the day ensure route slip is filled out correctly

  • Ability to portray a positive, upbeat, service-oriented attitude for the entire length of scheduled work hours.

  • Excellent telephone etiquette and keyboard skills

  • Able to learn new computer systems quickly and efficiently

  • Proficient in Microsoft office and Dentrix software

  • Check patient eligibility and determine any copayments due prior to scheduled visit

  • Collect all copays and enter in dental software

  • Schedule patients based on office scheduling guidelines and production goals

  • Adhere and utilize all company phone scripts.

  • Able to complete any additional tasks requested for the betterment of the office
