JOB DESCRIPTION

Eastern Metal Supply, Inc

Purpose of Position: Under general supervision, operate a telephone console to service incoming calls and provide general information to callers.

Duties and Responsibilities: The following duties are typical of those performed by employees in this job title; however, employees may perform other related duties, and not all duties listed are necessarily performed by each employee in the job title:

• Operate multi-line switchboard in order to transfer and answer incoming calls.

• Answer and direct phone calls in a polite and friendly manner

• Determine intent of caller and make appropriate connection.

• Sort and distribute incoming mail.

• Greet people entering the building, answering any questions, providing directions and alerting staff when someone is there to meet or visit them.

• Collect cash payments from will- call customers and give correct change if due.

• Verify and post payments to appropriate account; issue receipts; log payments; file paperwork; fill out credit card authorization forms; scan copies to appropriate departments.

• Train new receptionist in performance of job duties

• Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent

• Ability to calculate numbers, correct entries, and post to records.

• Professional customer service techniques

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Punctual with strong attendance history

• Must be able to work in a busy environment.
