Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:

Answers telephones, schedule appointments, obtain patient information, prepare chart for examination, collect and secure collections at patient check-out. Provides back-up and overflow coverage for Front Office Telephone Operator(s).

Responsibilities

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Receives Patients at reception window. Obtains required information/documentation from patient at check in.

Obtains financial and family information and updates it for each patient on each visit including, address, phone, insurance coverage, and DOB. Updates information and makes changes as necessary in the electronic medical records. Able to schedule appointments in electronic medical records.

Post charges and payments at the time of check-out for patient Verifies any late or open balances and reminds patient of the outstanding balance. Calls billing assistance to help patient with balance owed questions. Accepts payments and assures daily collections are secured.

Balances daily transactions. Assures waiting area is good order throughout the day. Calls custodial staff as needed for assistance.

Follows HIPAA guidelines and Variety Care Privacy policy and procedure. Assures that office equipment is in good working order. Notifies appropriate staff member if problems arise.

Provides back-up and overflow coverage for Front Office Telephone Operator (s). Accepts direction from the Practice Administrator or the Physician on staff. Support Variety Care's accreditation as a Patient Centered Medical Home and our commitment to provide care to all Variety patients that is Safe, Effective, Patient Centered, Timely, Efficient, and Equitable. Provide leadership and work with all staff to achieve the goals of the "Triple Aim" of healthcare reform-to improve the experience of care, improve health outcomes, and decrease healthcare costs.

Qualifications


Requirements, Special Skills or Knowledge:

High School Diploma or GED. Possesses legible handwriting and basic mathematic skills.

Possesses ability to work with the public. Possesses ability to enter simple data entry and has basic keyboarding knowledge. Able to communicate with patients and staff.

Trustworthy handling confidential information. Able to work in an active and stressful environment. Able to work with difficult patients from time to time. Bilingual (English/Spanish) REQUIRED.

ADA Requirements:

Able to lift a minimum of 25 pounds. Able to sit for long periods of time.

Summary of Duties and Responsibilities: Assisting clients with online application and enrollment for SoonerCare, Soon-to-be-Sooners, etc. Provide education to individual clients about SoonerCare plans. Promote awareness of the availability of health insurance through outreach and in-reach activities such as working with the Variety Care staff and providers and providing information to community partners. Responsibilities Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Provides information and enrollment assistance to clients/patients in a fair, accurate and impartial manner that is culturally and linguistically appropriate. Determines for which coverage clients are eligible to apply. Enrolls eligible clients in SoonerCare, Soon-to-be-Sooners, or any other available Medicaid program, following OHCA rules and using Agency View. Educates eligible clients/patients about terminology and responsibilities that may be unfamiliar to previously uninsured patients. Follows up with clients/patients as needed to assist with completion of enrollment. Identifies internal enrollment barriers and coordinate with Variety Care staff to resolve issues. Identifies external barriers and share with the Variety Care enrollment team for discussion. When appropriate, informs clients about the range of medical, dental, behavioral health, WIC and support services available at Variety Care and facilitate an appointment if requested. Supports Variety Care's Patient Centered Medical Home approach and our commitment to provide care to all Variety patients that is Safe, Effective, Patient Centered, Timely, Efficient and Equitable. Collaborate to achieve the "Triple Aim" of healthcare reform goals - improve the experience of care for our patients, improve health outcomes, decrease healthcare costs. Performs public education and outreach activities to raise awareness about Medicaid and the enrollment assistance available at Variety Care. Makes referrals to Variety Care and external social services resources, as appropriate. Performs internal ECW and other documentation and reporting responsibilities as assigned. Performs other duties, as assigned. Qualifications Requirements, Special Skills or Knowledge: High school diploma or GED. Comfortable utilizing a computer to do online training and complete insurance applications. Able to communicate complicated information in a manner that assists clients in making decisions about their own and/or their family members health care coverage options. Trustworthy in handling confidential information. Bilingual (English/Spanish) Must have valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Preferred Requirements, Special Skills or Knowledge: Post-secondary education. Experience in community outreach work.
