Job Title: Receptionist (2024-2025) Department: School or Department Office FLSA Status: Nonexempt - At-Will Position Salary: $14.69 - $18.63 (depending on experience) Calendar: 198 days (July 10 - May 23)

SUMMARY

Works under supervision and directs calls to destination, receives visitors, and routes messages to appropriate individuals by performing the following duties. Assists the Principal or designee as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Answers telephone and gives information to callers or routes call to appropriate official and places outgoing calls.

• Greets all visitor courteously, ascertains nature of business, and conducts visitors to employer or appropriate person.

• Maintains an attractive and comfortable reception area.

• Reads and routes incoming mail. Locates and attaches appropriate file to correspondence to be answered by employer.

• Files correspondence and other records.

• Compiles and types statistical reports.

• Makes copies of correspondence or other printed matter.

• Prepares outgoing mail.

• Calls parents and assists teachers/ counselors when necessary.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• High school diploma or general equivalency degree (GED) required; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
