Job Description

Job Summary: Must perform all essential functions and supervise other Receiving staff.

Essential Functions:

  • Receive all purchased material including raw material following written instructions and receiving procedures
  • Match receiving documents with accounting purchase orders
  • Maintain and closeout purchase orders on database using both BPA and Oracle
  • Deliver all received material (ex raw material) to appropriate location after identifying material to be dispatched
  • Responsible for keeping receiving area clean and organized
  • Fulfill essential functions of Level I, II & III when necessary
  • Must be qualified to perform cycle counts and enter transactions
  • Must assist shipping: weigh counting parts, stacking instructions, UPS procedures, generic packing slip and bill of lading, departure planning and shipping using Oracle
  • May be asked to drive company truck
  • Communicate with trucking companies regarding damaged goods and other discrepancies
  • Notify appropriate internal personnel regarding computer errors in inventory control program
  • Identify material needed Return Goods Authorization and notify Quality Assurance personnel
  • Communicate with internal personnel regarding vendor delivery either by phone, e-mail or memo
  • May be required to train other staff members
  • All other duties assigned


  • Must have high school diploma or GED. Some college preferred


  • At least 3 years receiving experience
  • Forklift certification ( Internal Training Class )
  • Must be able to perform simple arithmetic quickly and accurately (multiply, add, subtract)
  • Must be able to effectively perform mathematical functions essential to execute functions of job
  • Supervisory training and experience required
  • Must be able to read packing slips, bills of lading in English language to perform essential functions
  • Must be willing to learn and perform data entry on computer system and scanner
  • Must be able to communicate effectively by telephone and email with internal customers in English language
  • Must be efficient on computer to successfully execute essential functions
  • Must be detail oriented and possess an above average degree of concentration to effectively execute essential functions
  • Must work effectively as a team member
  • May be asked to travel offsite by car or foot
  • Behave in a positive manner that enhances the success of the company

Physical/Ergonomic Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs to a height of 42 inches

Job Description & Qualifications Job Summary Perform general warehouse operations and support management by acting as first line of assistance for associates. Dependent on volume/size of the facility, may have specialized tasks or have a generalized role working in all departments. This position may require operation of a Company Vehicle or a Personal Vehicle and such operation may be done consistently more than 20% of the average work week. If selected for this position, HD Supply may run a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) report. If this position requires operation of a Company Vehicle, an acceptable MVR report is a requirement. Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities * Coaches and trains lower level warehouse associates on the proper execution of warehouse duties, ensures policies and procedures are followed. * Exhibits detailed knowledge of all warehouse roles and is qualified in all aspects of warehouse operations. * Safely operates forklift or other machinery in order to complete tasks such as loading, unloading, sorting, picking, stocking, staging, and transportation of goods, operate pallet jacks, or other machinery in order to complete tasks such as unloading, sorting, staging and transporting products. * Verifies and enters data into the system. * Maintains condition of work area. * Stocks product in designated location or locates to pull correct quantities to fulfill customer orders and meet productivity and accuracy goals. * May also complete tasks such as receiving, returns, inventory, order layout, data entry, and load trucks considering cubic weight, size and characteristics of load. Nature and Scope * May modify processes to resolve situations. * Under limited supervision, relies on experience and exercises independent judgment to determine best approach to achieve desired outcomes. Course of action is often determined by interpreting procedures and policies. Work typically involves periodic review of output by supervisor or direct "customers" of the process * Is sought out and/or assigned to provide general guidance/direction, training, and technical assistance to junior level support personnel. Preferred Qualifications & Job Specific Details The Warehouse Team Lead serves as a hands-on "Team Captain" in his or her respective department. The Warehouse Team Lead may be responsible for general warehouse duties, in addition to coaching and training lower level warehouse associates, motivating the team to reach set metrics, and maintaining the condition of the immediate work area. Set metrics include, but are not limited to: Safety, Productivity, Quality, and a Clean Workplace. Preferred Qualifications * At least 1-2 years of warehouse experience. * Ability to professionally lead staff by example and handle light supervisory duties.
