Receiving Supervisor


Responsible for receiving warehouse operations and inventory control. Supervise a crew responsible for maintaining a CGMP warehouse for storage of raw materials and packaging. Provide needed materials to manufacturing groups in an efficient and timely manner.

Permanent Assignments

Area of accountability no 1: Plan and coordinate work, train and motivate, monitor and evaluate performance of Material Handlers.

Expected results: Ensure the Material Handler are safely operating material handling equipment to move materials to and from storage configurations, efficiently and accurately receiving and picking products in accordance with all GMP and receiving department SOPs.

Area of accountability no 2: Maintain accuracy of the component inventory and ensure the timely flow of materials, both physically and within the operating system, into and out of warehouse.

Expected results: Maintain accurate inventory levels.

Area of accountability no 3: Provide materials to manufacturing groups in an accurate and timely manner. Receive materials back from manufacturing groups verifying counts and maintaining the level of components in the units within the ERP system.

Expected results: Supply and support production floor with requested materials for manufacturing.

Area of accountability no 4: Participate direct with the Warehouse & Logistic Manager the deployment and implementations of the physical flow optimization.

Ensure all employees are trained and complying with the physical flow procedure in internal, external and Kanban pull flow. Encourage and support the team in identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, workflow and cost reduction.

Expected results: Ensure continuity of continuous improvement within the receiving warehouse.

Area of accountability no 5: Perform row audits and cycle counting.

Perform recounts and investigations of inventory discrepancies. Prepare and participate in the annual physical inventory.

Expected results: Ensure accurate counts for annual physical inventory.

Area of accountability no 6: Manage Outside Workshop Labor operations depending on schedule and ensure proper level of needed packaging is available and shipped to workshop.

Expected Results: Support the efforts of Supply Chain for OCL finished product inventory levels.

Area of accountability no 7: Manage the inventory and storage of items in controlled waste area (295) ensuring proper paperwork is completed and the flow of materials is handled.

Expected Results: Ensure area (295) is managed within a controlled level and complying with the SOP.

KNOW-HOW: job-related skills required to complete activities
1.Strong knowledge of warehouse and material handling operations, methods and practices.
2.Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office is mandatory and Oracle is a plus.
3.Demonstrates ability to coordinate a high level of activity under a variety of conditions and constraints. 4. Ability to perform semi-routine duties where some judgment is required when communicating with co-workers.
5.Must possess the ability to professionally communicate orally and in writing.
6.Strong organizational skills.

Optional: Training / Experience necessary to fulfill the job

Educational level or equivalent experience: College Degree or equivalent warehouse environment experience.

Total number of years' experience required to fulfil the role: 4-6 years warehouse experience.

Career pre-requisites: Must have supervisory experience and an understanding of basic CI, Kanban and lean manufacturing. Experience in a Union Environment is beneficial.
