Job Summary:
The Receiving Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the receiving department, managing inventory, and optimizing workflows and space utilization. This position ensures the accurate and timely receipt of goods, adherence to proper processes and procedures, and supports training and cross-training initiatives. As a working supervisory role, the incumbent will actively participate in receiving duties alongside team members. Hours: Monday to Friday 4:00am to 12:30pm

What you will be doing:
Supervisory:
Communicate staffing needs to Operations Management to ensure department goals are met.
Participate in interviewing, hiring, and training of new personnel for the receiving department.
Provide training and retraining of receiving protocols to assigned personnel and communicate process changes.
Update QMS documents as necessary.
Operations:
Ensure the receiving team completes daily checklist objectives and communicates status to the Operations Leadership Team.
Manage all duties related to returns, claims, and return authorizations, including inter-office and external communication and follow-up.
Review and understand manifest instructions, packing list information, and all product/vendor details.
Identify discrepancies in vendor documents and reports; follow up with vendors and management as needed.
Troubleshoot IRRs, complete the IRR process, and work with the team to eliminate errors and train on process documents.
Respond to inquiries from internal and external customers professionally, supporting customer service expectations.
Complete receiving documentation accurately, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and company regulations.
Adhere to company policies, procedures, and workplace guidelines.
Promote and ensure safety in all assigned duties, reporting potential hazards and correcting unsafe situations.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
What we are looking for:
Thorough understanding of warehouse receiving practices and theories.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to motivate and mentor team members.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Strong analytical, decision-making, and critical thinking skills.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Associate degree or higher education experience preferred.
5 years of experience in a receiving or similar position preferred.
Experience operating a variety of forklifts and other warehouse equipment required.
RF experience preferred.
Working knowledge of Gartman (AS400) system preferred.
Flooring product knowledge preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of standing and operating forklifts and pallet jacks.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Ability to push, pull, lift, stretch, and stand for prolonged periods.
Occasional travel to other warehouse locations may be required.
