Position Summary:

The Lead position reports to the Manager of the Receiving department and is responsible for assisting the supervisor in identifying issues, assisting in managing and maintaining the Receiving department, and ensuring the department is meeting its goals and deadlines. This person must be familiar with all the job functions in the Receiving department.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Communicate regularly with all employees and across all departments as needed. Work effectively with all levels of management.

  • Assist the Supervisor in continually increasing efficiency, quality, and productivity of the Receiving department.

  • Be able to lead the team if and when the Supervisor is absent.

  • Must possess excellent decision making ability.

  • Be able to help drive employees to meet department quotas and goals, particularly during high demand seasons.

  • Identify and report department issues to Supervisor.

  • Ensure that all team members adhere to safety procedures and policies.

  • Assist in controlling department cost through reduction of material waste and efficient use of employees.

  • Understand and preserve department goals as well as drive and motivate team members to accomplish them.

  • Maintain knowledge and skills of all positions in the Inventory department.

  • Exude a confident and professional demeanor at all times.

  • On occasion fill in where necessary.

  • Other duties as required.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of processes and ability to make strong recommendations for process improvement

Essential Functions:

  • Able to lift at least 35 lbs.

Minimum Education:

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Minimum Experience:

  • Must have a can-do attitude and be able to work well with others.

  • Must be able to communicate well in English - both verbally and in writing.

  • Computer proficient. Must have some experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

  • Must have excellent organizational skills.

  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize.

  • Ability to learn swiftly and apply techniques in a valuable and productive manner.

  • Ability to work quickly and effectively in a fast-paced, high pressure and demanding environment.

  • Ability to pay close attention to detail and maintain constant organization.

  • 6-12 months experience working in a stockroom environment preferred, apparel experience strongly desired.

  • Some overtime hours may be required

Duties include receiving activities, packing and shipping, reverse logistics, sustainability and other duties as needed. In a Flex (Flexible Work Team) position, you won't have assigned shifts or guaranteed hours each week, but you will have maximum flexibility to earn money – and a generous employee discount - around your personal schedule. On key days or peak shopping times, however - like a One Day Sale or the week leading up to Christmas – you will be assigned a shift. These assigned shifts are based on preferences that you set and update periodically during the year. Seasonal Receiving Associate shifts start when the location receives their truck: * Early Mornings - Shift starts between 4 am and 6 am * Mid Mornings - Shift starts between 7 am and 10 am * Afternoons - Shift starts between 11 am and 2 pm * Mid Afternoons - Shift starts between 3 pm and 5 pm * Evenings - Shift starts between 6 pm and 9 pm * Late Evenings - Shift starts between 10 pm and midnight Essential Functions: * Provide an exceptional customer shopping experience by ensuring both the in store and online customer are always the #1 priority * Service the customer in a helpful and friendly manner * Collaborate with Managers, Leads and Associates throughout the store to deliver a clean, neat and easy-to-shop store environment; maintain sales floor and fitting room recovery standards to include checking fitting room stalls, sorting merchandise and ensuring merchandise is worked back to sales floor immediately as time permits * Support Omni Channel initiatives * Perform all functions in an efficient manner; flex between tasks as directed by Supervisor * Participate in the physical inventory process and ensure that shortage prevention initiatives are executed * Adhere to Asset Protection and inventory control and compliance procedures * Regular, dependable attendance and punctuality * Collaborate with peers to coordinate merchandise movement needs with other tasks (floor moves, seasonal sets, fixture needs, etc.) * Execute receiving, merchandise processing, packing/shipping and reverse logistics tasks timely and accurately to include processing inbound merchandise to floor ready standards by removing packaging and placing sensors per MMPS standards; delivery of processed merchandise to appropriate sales floor drop zones, first quality packing standards and processing of fulfillment orders and reverse logistics (damages, transfers, RTVs), accurate outbound trailer execution; collection and sorting of hangers, sensor tags, trash and recycling throughout the store; organization, maintenance and replenishment of supply areas including sales floor, building lamping, and customer carryout and special delivery as needed * Assist in other tasks as needed (pricing, signing, merchandising, replenishment, fulfillment, RFID, stockroom maintenance) Qualifications: Education/Experience: * No specific educational accomplishments are necessary. Communication Skills: * Excellent written and verbal communication skills. * Ability to interpret instructional documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Mathematical Skills: * Basic math functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. * Able to use a calculator. Reasoning Ability: * Self-starter, able to work independently and as part of a team and must have good time management skills. Physical Demands: * This position involves constant moving and standing. Involves standing for at least two consecutive hours. Involves lifting at least 30 lbs. May occasionally involve reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders.
