Position Summary:
Under the general supervision of the Lead Storeroom Clerk, receives, inspects, record receipts, and routes to storage or ordering department, all incoming materials, supplies and equipment and performs shipping and related clerical duties.
This person generally establishes own work plan and priorities to assure timely completion of assigned work in conformance with established department policies. Also for immediate follow-up on receiving problems with vendor and/or Purchasing.

This is a full-time 40 hour/ week position
Responsibilities:
Receives incoming materials, inspects for damaged goods, counts cartons or other items to verify items on purchase orders, and reports damaged goods to Purchasing Agent of Buyer responsible for ordering merchandise.
Carries out all activities required to return merchandise which is damaged, received incorrectly, or refused by ordering department.
Transports stocked pallets from loading dock to storeroom unloading area.
Separates and receives stock and places neatly on storeroom shelves.
Maintains Receiving/Stores area in a clean, neat and orderly manner.
Sweeps the loading doc and organizes the pallet stack area.
Performs shipping duties, including package, label, and weigh items to be shipped and post in shipping log.
Prepares required shipping papers.
Affixes proper postage or contact trucker or delivery service.
Maintains all records regarding bills of loading and packing lists.
Maintains communication with all other departments to expedite critical supply needs or rectifies unexpected supply problems within scope of responsibility.
All problems lacking clear precedent should be brought to the attention of the S.P.D. Supervisor for review and resolution.
Coordinates the return and repair log with outgoing items on repair/return shelf.
Performs other duties as required or assigned.
BASIC KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/APTITUDE/EXPERIENCE:
A minimum of one year of receiving experience in either a health care or industrial environment.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization may exist.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Must be able to reasonably make appropriate judgment in communications and actions with patient, physicians, other associates, outside agencies, and vendors.
Education/Experience/Licenses/Technical/Other:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience: A minimum of one year of receiving experience in either a health care or industrial environment.
