Banner Health is seeking a part-time Receiver at North Colorado Medical Center in beautiful Northern Colorado! This Receiver position has a variety of duties with receiving incoming orders, utilizing inventory database, and preparing outgoing items for shipping.

This Receiver position is a 20-hour benefited position working Monday-Friday from 6:30 am 10:30 am. Interested candidates should apply!!

Job Summary

This position performs all functions related to the receiving, shipping, and distribution of materials and supplies for the hospital central supply department.

Essential Functions

  • Receives incoming orders and verifies orders are accurate and intact, including special orders. Documents and communicates damage, shipping errors, and/or other discrepancies. Inputs supplies received and prints receiving ticket(s). Applies property tags when applicable and notifies appropriate party for items requiring electrical safety inspection.

  • Audits incoming orders for accuracy, proper storage, temperature, and/or damage; resolves discrepancies in orders; marks items for distribution; and prepares various receiving and shipping documents.

  • Distributes orders to appropriate departments on a timely basis.

  • Prepares outgoing material for shipping, including all returns and repairs. Assures that packages are properly labeled and that a purchase order, return goods authorization, and/or materials disposition accompanies each package.

  • Enters returns and substitution receipts information into the materials management information system.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge. Requires reading, writing and mathematical skills.

A broad understanding of medical supplies and materials items and handling requirements as normally acquired through two or more years of related work with shipping & receiving and medical supplies. May be required to possess a valid drivers license and be eligible for coverage under the companys auto insurance policy.

Must have effective organizational skills to accurately maintain records and coordinate various inventory control functions, the mathematical skills to calculate quantities and pricing, and the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Accurate keyboarding ability and a working knowledge of the Materials Management Information System is required.

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of medical supplies and equipment is preferred.

The radiology scheduling team collaborates daily working closely in a call center environment. As a scheduler, you are the patient's first point of contact for questions regarding pre-and post-test preparation, location, directions, and general questions. Acts as an information resource to designated facility. This position spends about 50% of time scheduling medical procedures for the organization's patients, physicians and medical facilities across the region by coordinating all aspects including, but not limiting to, facility resources, physicians, authorizations and insurance verification. Using a broad understanding of clinical procedures and company facilities, this position provides patients with pre-admitting information and pre-registration. Essential Functions Audits all medical procedures and tests scheduled through the department ensuring that a corresponding order is received and accurate. Identifies issues and trends that require resolution. Provides education and feedback to the team members as related to issues identified through audits. Works with department leadership to resolve problems related to process. Acts as an information resource to designated facilities as related to scheduling process and procedure. Works with facility to resolve problems which may require a change in scheduling process. Coordinates patients, facility resources, physicians, ancillary staff, documents, records, referrals, authorizations and insurance providers to effectively schedule medical procedures. Makes and responds to calls from patients, provider offices and facilities for scheduling services. Schedules tests and procedures in scheduling software system according to the guidelines established by the individual hospital departments and Central Scheduling standards. Obtains and documents prior authorizations, referrals, or other authorizations as required by facilities and insurance carriers. Acquires and documents pertinent patient medical information in accordance with procedural guidelines. Provides patients with information, pre and post-test instruction and directions, location directions, and answers to questions. Refers questions to medical offices as appropriate. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge. Requires proficiency typically obtained with 4+ years experience in medical procedure/testing scheduling. Must have an extensive understanding of medical terminology, diagnoses, and every kind of test and procedure for which scheduling is conducted. Also requires knowledge of payor contract terms and processes. Must have highly developed interpersonal skills and communications skills, with a strong customer service orientation. Requires effective teamwork skills and the ability to meet deadlines and productivity standards. Must possess demonstrated critical thinking skills and the ability to apply knowledge to department problems. Requires strong knowledge of patient scheduling software and central scheduling process and procedures. Accurate and efficient keyboarding skills, the ability to work effectively with common office software are required. Preferred Qualifications Previous out patient testing or surgical scheduling experience is desired. Previous experience in training and/or previous clinical experience is a plus.
