Marc Waring Ventures, the company behind the small business education website FitSmallBusiness.com and now TheClose.com, is seeking a staff writer to join our 20+ editorial team as a Sales Writer. Recently named to the Inc. 500 list of Americas fastest-growing private companies,Fit Small Business is startup founded in 2013 that is read by over 2 million small business owners and managers each month. Their headquarters are located across the street from Grand Central Station. This position is open to remote work.

The Position

The Real Estate Writer will be our resident expert on educating new and experienced real estate agents and brokers on everything they need to know to succeed. You will work with both our Real Estate Section editor and Managing Editor.

Ideally, you are or were a real estate agent or broker yourself. You should also have a great network of agents, brokers, and related professionals (e.g. appraisers and home inspection professionals) that you can call on as sources for articles. Most importantly, you are passionate about real estate and want to share your knowledge in written form with our eager readership.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Researching, writing, and editing articles on real estate topics, such as lead generation, software, and latest trends.

  • Conducting interviews with real estate experts, such as top producing agents and brokers (ideally, from your own network) and reps from real estate software companies.

  • Providing in-depth responses to reader questions on real estate and other journalists queries on real estate.

  • Be comfortable participating in social media, webinars, and video to take our real estate content to the next level.

Qualifications for success:

  • You are comfortable writing about real estate or have a strong desire to get your knowledge on paper from years of experience in this field.

  • Maybe you already are writing for real estate freelanceand want to take it to full time.

  • You are high energy and passionate about helping real estate agents and brokers succeed.

  • You are comfortable working in a startup environment where things change quickly.

As a BD manager, your primary focus will be the growth of the business, a start-up company’s raison d'être, in the city of New York. You will negotiate and partner with large developers and landlords to add new properties to Blueground’s portfolio while establishing strong relationships with the local real estate industry. You will work closely with Blueground’s Director of Real estate in New York to develop and execute on a property acquisition strategy and plan.
