WSFS Bank is currently seeking a Real Estate Services Construction Specialist. The Real Estate Services Construction Specialist will primarily be managing risk and compliance related issues associated with the RES construction loan portfolio through the monitoring of all financial and project related activity including construction loan advance conditions, payments, documentation and construction work in place. The incumbent will respond directly to the Relationship Manager, customers, and vendors for inquiries to resolve issues surrounding commercial and consumer loans, as well as assist in reporting monthly and quarterly information for reports that include interest reserve, portfolio performance, vendor efficiency and service level agreements. The incumbent will monitor commercial and consumer construction loan activity to manage risk and ensure compliance with RES policy, loan covenants, letters of credit, and extensions throughout he construction period of the loan. Other responsibilities include assessing the feasibility of a project; reviewing boarded construction loans and provide revisions when required; tracking and documenting daily loan activity; performing budget reviews to identify possible shortfalls; and reviewing customer draw request packages and 3rd party inspection reports. The Real Estate Services Construction Specialist will also perform quarterly inspections of construction projects to confirm activity, work in place and site conditions, and manage bank exposure caused by municipal Letter of Credit, Tri-Party, or other third part agreements tied to the construction loan.

This is a full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday Friday, 8:00 am 5:00 pm position located at WSFS Bank Place location in Philadelphia, PA.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must have a Bachelor's degree in construction and/or Finance, or the equivalent experience within a construction and/or banking environment.

  • Must have at least 3 years of previous construction management and/or commercial loan administration experience.

  • Knowledge of construction lending and loan documentation associated with construction loans and servicing practices associated with this product type is required.

  • Must possess general knowledge of statutes and regulations governing the servicing of construction loans.

  • Previous clerical, banking, accounting or construction experience is preferred.

  • Previous customer service experience is required.

  • Must possess ability to create and effectively manage moderately complex project budgets.

  • Must possess good organizational, analytical and communication skills.

  • Must be able to work independently.

  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel.

Physical Demands: The physical demands described below must be met by an Associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job

  • Incumbent will be required to stand for extended periods of time.

  • Incumbent may be required to sit for prolonged periods of time.

  • Dexterity is mandatory as this job requires frequent use of hands and fingers.

  • The incumbent will be required to walk, reach with hands and arms, push items overhead, occasionally climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.

  • The incumbent will also be required to talk, hear, see, read and write.

  • This position requires regular lifting and moving of 10-25 lbs.

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
