Pay for this position is base plus commission.
Overview:
The primary function is to cultivate external referral relationships for the purpose of originating mortgage loans and capturing additional membership for the credit union while providing high quality service. This position will be responsible for taking high quality loan applications, pulling credit, structuring loans in a beneficial, prudent, and responsible manner while ensuring loans meet secondary market guidelines and/or credit union policies while building the real estate loan portfolio.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Reaching out to the real estate community to cultivate, maintain and secure referral relationships for the purpose of originating mortgage loans and capturing additional membership for the credit union while providing high quality service. This would include but not limited to reaching out to Realtors, builders, financial planners, networking groups, other lenders, and the real estate originators sphere of influence.
Interview loan applicants
Evaluate credit worthiness
Originate documentation.
Adhere to secondary market and mortgage insurance guidelines and credit union policies.
Preliminarily approve or deny loan applications based on secondary market guidelines.
Maintain confidentiality in all Credit Union and member matters.
Follow safety and security rules and regulations.
Comply with state and federal real estate lending laws.
Present a positive image of the Credit Union to members through a professional appearance and courteous attitude.

Qualifications
3-5 years of secondary market mortgage lending in a financial institution is preferred
Previous sales experience preferred.
Excellent oral and written communication skills and problem solving skills.
Knowledge and ability of basic personal computer operations, fundamentals of real estate lending concepts and practices, basic real estate math calculations and state and federal laws governing consumer and real estate lending.
Business related college degree preferred.
