What You'll Do: As our Real Estate Investment Manager, you will join FBL's Real Estate department as a member of our nationwide commercial lending platform.

Responsibilities include the evaluation and recommendation of individual investment opportunities, monitoring the performance of the assets in our portfolio, and establishing and maintaining relationships with the brokerage community within assigned territories. You'll be joining a team of five individuals, which offers exposure to a wide variety of responsibilities and projects. As our Real Estate Investment Manager, you will also have input on investment guidelines and procedures, correspondent relationships, and marketing and investment strategy specific to the commercial mortgage loan portfolio.

What It Takes to Join Our Team:

  • College degree in finance or real estate required, MBA preferred.

  • 5-10+ years real estate finance experience preferred.

  • Successful completion of CCIM or Certified Real Estate Investor designation preferred.

  • Must have strong knowledge of both the real estate and capital markets.

  • Extensive analytical, problem solving, negotiating and organizational skills are required.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and capable of communicating with all levels of personnel as well as outside professionals.

  • Working knowledge of Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and Bloomberg.

  • Some travel required (less than 25%).

The Role * The Allegations Management Leader is a newly created WIM-level position and will be responsible for the development, centralized management, execution, and coordination of a WIM Allegations Research Management team. This is a senior manager role and will be responsible for an Allegations Management Group which will process all allegations in WIM (excluding WFA) through the entire life cycle of the allegation. This includes intake of the allegation, researching the allegation and disposition through Internal Investigations or Employee Relations. * This position will work closely with Wells Fargo Advisors Special Supervisory Review teams to avoid duplication yet provide insight into the WFA activities related to allegations. Additional responsibilities include: * Provide input into the development of the Allegations risk programs and policies in coordination with Conduct Risk Program Manager and IRM * Hire and develop a diverse team of subject matter experts to ensure front line allegations responsibilities are fulfilled within this team consistent with the requirements developed by the Enterprise IRM and other functions. * Manage relationships and foster a team orientation with risk and business control leaders across WIM Control, IRM, legal, audit, and other enterprise functional teams, including Employee Relations, Customer Remediation COE, Complaints Management Office, etc. * Team leadership and development. Cultivate key team approach and partnership ethic through senior managers and their teams. Ensure team is meeting risk management objectives in line with required policies and procedures. * For any substantiated allegation, identify impact type and escalate appropriately to conduct a root cause analysis and ensure corrective actions are recommended, including documenting the disposition activities in EAP. * Providing subject matter expertise in correlating allegations to identify potential emerging risks and work with Business Control Leaders to enhance the control infrastructure to mitigate misconduct risk. * Provide strong and actionable Tone from the Top communications throughout WIM and ensure team members feel safe and protected in raising concerns and issues The successful candidate will work closely with other senior leaders across the WIM Control organization and the company in the development and execution of company risk management strategies. Accordingly, critical success factors will include the ability to develop partnerships with many business and functional areas, provide insight into the economic climate and related market developments and identify trends which may present opportunities or reflect gaps in the Company's risk management execution/direction. Leadership, integrity, and credibility will be determining factors in selection. Successful candidates will be articulate and possess a demonstrated leadership capability; they will be impressive in their inter-personal effectiveness and with regard to their accomplishments. It requires a leader with strong relationship management, influencing, vision and execution skills.
