Roch Capital Real Estate Investment, the investment arm of Roch Capital Inc. (pronounced "Rock") is looking for an Investment Analyst Summer Intern. The team is building a broad commercial real estate portfolio, currently with a focus on hospitality. The Intern will provide analysis and support for potential hospitality investment/acquisition opportunities that match portfolio goals. The role will report to the company's Glen Mills, PA headquarters.
Investment Analyst Responsibilities
Utilize Excel-based models to calculate returns including IRR, NPV, and cash returns on potential commercial real estate acquisitions, with a focus on hospitality assets.
Gather, monitor, and produce information regarding target geographical markets.
Support ad hoc group activities including research projects, new supply/competition reports, potential dispositions, expense analysis, contract analysis, and budget vs. actual comparisons.
Work with property management to ensure proper execution of business plan.
Administrative support including the maintenance of deal flow database (Sugar), submission and tracking of Confidentiality Agreements, and setup of new deal specific files as well as other organizational responsibilities.
Asset Management Responsibilities
Work with the SVP and VP of Asset Management to establish asset specific strategies that produce long term growth in asset value and cash flow.
Work with asset management team to assist in third party property operations oversight (and in certain cases internal property managers) to meet financial and strategic property plans.
Monitor asset performance including revenue, expenses, NOI, cash flow and asset values and progress towards achieving asset strategies
Work with acquisitions team to provide input on underwriting assets, perform due diligence and evaluating assets for potential disposition. Work on property closings and initial set up of assets upon acquisition.
Engage with the asset management team to improve performance at each of our hotel, office and multi-family assets.
Incorporate a value-oriented approach to decision making by analyzing lease opportunities, major capital decisions, ROI investments decisions, contracts, etc. at the properties.
Develop presentation platforms for the asset management team that concentrates on the overall performance and comparison of each of our assets.
Requirements
Working towards a Bachelor's Degree in Finance required, a minor in, or experience with a Hospitality Program preferred.
Strong analytical skills
Proficient with Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel
