Coordination of Real Estate Accounting team's day-to-day operations

Responsibilities include:

  • Coordinate review of internal income statements to support the monthly accrual process with accountants and property managers

  • Create journal entries for expenses, accruals, and reclasses

  • Perform analysis and reconciliations of accounting information in the general ledger to ensure accurate internal and external data reporting

  • Prepare monthly upload of multifamily general ledger detail and reconciliations

  • Prepare key compliance filings

  • Recurring billing maintenance and updates

  • Unit information maintenance and updates (update and monitor properties' GLA and unit changes, maintain stacking plans)

  • Review 3rd party's application of cash payments and accounts receivable spreading, research and resolve issues

  • Manage the sales overage module and prepare percentage rent billings, review monthly sales overage report, identify issues and resolve with accountants and property managers

Manage communications between the department and external parties

Responsibilities include:

  • Coordinate the preparation, review and delivery of periodic and ad-hoc communications to tenants (including rent commencement, rental increases, late fees, estimates, reconciliations, and default notices)

  • Research and respond to tenant questions, provide tenant support

  • Provide support to external auditors

  • Manage and track distribution of documents between the teams

Design and execute on optimized processes for managing hard copy versions of executed documents; such as scanning and tagging documents for easy search and retrieval, photocopying, and file organization


  • Organized, detail oriented and driven team member

  • Thoughtful problem-solver

  • Ability to multi-task

  • Internal desire to learn new things and discover efficiencies

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel

  • Excellent communication, reading comprehension and analytical skills

  • Bachelor's Degree (Accounting Preferred)
