The Eastchester School District is seeking a qualified experienced candidate, with an expertise in Reading/Literacy, to fill the leave replacement vacancy of Elementary AIS - Reading Teacher for grades K-1, in the Waverly School.

Responsibilities:

• Support academically at-risk students in small group instruction under the direction of building administration

• Planning and delivering lessons that feature early literacy foundational skills and strategies

• Possesses knowledge and understanding of early childhood development

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Requirements:

• Dual NYS certification preferred: Elementary/Childhood Education and Literacy/Reading

• Candidates with special education certification in addition to the certifications listed above are also encouraged to apply

• NYSED Fingerprint Clearance*

Employment Terms:

• 10 month leave replacement assignment

• Salary range in accordance with the Eastchester Teachers Association (ETA) negotiated salary schedule; $61,939 - $146,440, step placement contingent upon prior related experience.

• Fingerprint Clearance: SAVE Law: Effective July 1, 2001, Education Law §§305(30), 3004-b, 3004-c and 3035, as amended by Chapter 180 of the Laws of 2000, and Part 87 of the Commissioner's Regulations require the Commissioner of Education to request a fingerprint-supported criminal history background check for applicants for certification as well as for prospective employees of school districts, charter schools and boards of cooperative educational services (BOCES). The Commissioner of Education carries out these responsibilities through the New York State Education Department's Office of School Personnel Review and Accountability (OSPRA).
