Position Summary

Thousands of Minnesota kids struggle with reading and math. Offer your time and talent as a tutor and BE MORE for these students.Make a difference as a Reading or Math Tutor by helping students become better readers or improve their math skills. With great training and onsite coaching, we'll prepare you to help kids develop both skills and confidence! This is an AmeriCorps member position with Minnesota Reading Corps/Minnesota Math Corps. Although the earnings are modest, the rewards and community impact are great! You'll join an amazing group of more than 1,500 Minnesota tutors, determined to help students be more.

What to Expect

Be a change maker by providing one-on-one or small group help during school hours. Be the reason struggling students build their confidence and skills. Be ready to grow by participating in on-site coaching sessions two times per month to review student progress and get feedback. Be impactful by participating in training and ongoing professional development Be the motivation and represent Reading Corps/Math Corps at school-sponsored activities (e.g., family night) to help build awareness. Be an ambassador of the program by sharing your experience with the wider community.

What it Takes

Great tutors come from all walks of life. Whether you are 18 or 85, the most important qualification is a desire to help children succeed. That said, you also need to meet the following minimum qualifications by the time you begin your service.

Are dependable and have a history of good attendance
Able to understand and follow instructions
Can set a pace and maintain a schedule with students
Have basic computer skills (like email and navigating online)
Can speak, read, and write English fluently
18 years of age or older with a high school diploma or equivalent
A citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident alien of the United States*
Have served no more than three terms with AmeriCorps State or National Program
Agree to and successfully complete a background check
Applicants who have received deferred action for childhood arrivals (DACA) through the U.S. Department of Homeland Security are not eligible to serve as AmeriCorps members at this time.

Job Summary Repair vehicles thoroughly, safely, and profitably in a manner consistent with Caliber S.O.P., insurance partner and industry guidelines/standards. Essential Job Duties * Complete dis-assembly of vehicle in order to assist Service Advisor with preparing a 100% Repair Plan * Ensure all needed repairs identified to eliminate supplements and minimize repair time * Plan work procedure: follow work order for all operations listed * Remove upholstery, accessories, electrical and hydraulic window and seat operating equipment and trim to gain access to damaged area of vehicle if needed. Under general administrative supervision of the Clinic Manager, clinical supervision of and collaboration with the Director of Clinical Practice and Medical Director, the Nurse Practitioner provides clinical services, including reproductive health care, to patients at designated PPNCS clinic(s). Nurse Practitioners are advocates in implementing our mission of "Affirming the human right to reproductive health and freedom." Perform other related as assigned. Responsibilities Essential functions and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: The Nurse Practitioner practices according to the PPNCS MS&G and as indicated by the patient's status; APN practice includes the following: * Obtains pertinent patient history and performs a physical exam, as indicated by the visit type. * Recognizes and addresses deviations from normal. * Performs, orders, and interprets both screening and diagnostic testing; addresses abnormal findings. * Develops plan, which may include treatment, medical or other referrals, and/or prescribing of medications. * Provides patient instruction regarding plan of care, preventive education, and health promotion and maintenance. * Consults with Medical Director or clinician on-call as indicated. * Obtains informed consent when indicated. * Collaborates with the health care team and other community agencies and resources, as indicated. * Assesses interventions and/or referral progress as indicated. * Documents accurately and clearly. * Supervises clinic support staff regarding routine patient orders. * Collaborates with Clinic Manager to meet clinic goals, productivity benchmarks, and assigned tasks. * Provides customer focused care and assures smooth and efficient patient and clinic flow processes. * Interprets scientific studies based on knowledge of basic research principals; Provides input and current information for the on-going process of protocol development. * Stays up-to-date on reproductive health care developments and maintains CEU requirements for required licensure and certification. * Meets quality assurance requirements, including the appropriate dispensing of medications. * Maintains patient confidentiality and meets compliance requirements, including HIPPA. * Meets coding and documentation requirements. * Possesses basic comprehension and skills of PPNCS clinic computer technology as it relates specifically to the Nurse Practitioner role. * Recognizes ethical, legal and professional issues inherent in providing reproductive health care. * Communicates clinical and professional issues and questions to the Director of Clinical Practice. * Follows protocol and training requirements for expanding scope of practice and/or learning new procedures, i.e. colposcopy, IUD insertion. * Works to ensure understanding and acceptance of the APN PPNCS role with colleagues, consumers, and the community. * Follows PPNCS Policies and Procedures. * Appropriately supervises RNs who are qualified to utilize the Standing Orders and RN Condition-Specific Protocol at PPNCS in Minnesota Only. Appropriately supervises support staff (MAs and LPNs) in the utilization of Standing Orders. * Prescribe all FDA approved methods of birth control. * Provide medication abortion follow up or refer patients for medical abortion. * Refer patients for surgical abortion, prenatal care or adoption services. * Counsel HIV+ clients. * Assist physicians with evaluation of medication abortion patients STANDARD REQUIREMENTS * Understand and work as a team to meet PPNCS productivity goals.
