POSITION:

Digital Learning Initiative (DLI) Teacher Capacity Building (Approximately 100 positions)

If the capacity building per-session eligible event is a training, train rates will be paid instead of regular per-session/union-relevant rates.

NYCPS Division of Teaching and Learning, Curriculum and Instruction, Digital Learning Initiative (DLI)

LOCATION:

Various NYCPS citywide/remote locations, inclusive of NYCPS platforms such as Microsoft Teams, Google Meet or Zoom, as indicated by the Digital Learning Initiative (DLI) team.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

• Applicants must be a NYC Public School licensed and appointed teacher.

• Applicants must currently work in a New York City public school teacher position.

• Applicants must have a satisfactory rating for the past three years.

• Applicants must have satisfactory time and attendance for the past three years.

SELECTION CRITERIA:

Preference will be given to applicants with the following:

• Satisfactory experience teaching experience across multiple content areas and environments; virtual/online teaching experience a plus.

• Understanding and ability to apply digital learning/ed teach frameworks, such as SAMR, TPACK, and ISTE Standards, cross-walked with in relation to other frameworks, such as Danielson, Universal Design for Learning, etc.

• Ability to act as Subject Matter Expert and support development of customized content in the instructional application of digital learning-related tools, inclusive learning tools to increase equity of access, and field-facing artifacts related to high-quality, digital learning implementation.

• Knowledge and skills in classroom implementation of Blended Learning models, master-based learning, and competency-based learning.

• Ability to collaborate with schools/Districts in providing comprehensive support to scale citywide systems and structures that build digital learning capacities, as aligned to Division of Teaching and Learning, and DLI team goals.

• Create and curate exemplary models of Digital Teaching and Learning.

• Experience collaborating on education technology, curriculum, and school improvement initiatives.

• Support DLI innovation programs, pilots, and inclusion of emergent technologies through research, design, and implementation, as appropriate to teaching and learning.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Participate in professional learning and/or training for Digital Learning Initiatives in relation to Building Digital Learning Capacity, Building Digital Skills, using Blended Learning models to strengthen core instruction, and Expanding Flexible Learning Environments.

• Supports peers in the planning and design of implementation plans, and instructional components of DLI innovation programs.

• Participates in planning and design of implementation plans and instructional components of DLI innovation programs.

• Coordinates with diverse stakeholders in responding to surveys, participating in focus groups, and conferring with visitors.

• Participates in professional development focused on pedagogy that leads to student-centered classrooms, inclusive of digital tools, digital curriculum, learning management systems, and digital skills critical to post-secondary readiness.

• Create and curate exemplary models of Digital Teaching and Learning.

WORK SCHEDULE:

July 1, 2023 - Fall 2023 and beyond. Various dates and times during the summer and school year. Schedules will be determined by need and availability. (Number of hours may vary but could be up to 30hrs).

Hours up to, but not limited to the approximate number of hours listed. Additional hours may be granted upon the approval of the hiring manager.

SALARY:

Per Session rates as per the relevant union/organization of the advertised title (Collective Bargaining Agreement). Contingent upon funding availability and programmatic approval.
