Job Description

This distribution associate performs manual and clerical duties related to the shipment and receipt of materials, supplies, equipment and finished products.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Receive goods, verify items against the record of shipment and inspect condition.

  • Gather, verify and pack items for shipment according to specifications and the transportation method used.

  • Record received and shipped items according to established procedures.

  • Route materials, supplies and equipment to inspection or stock areas.

  • Complete written and computerized documentation.

Requires a high school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Requires at least 1 year related experience.

Prefer forklift certification. Knows typical shipping and receiving procedures and can handle some exceptions. Requires basic reading, writing and numerical ability.

Valid driver's license with good driving record may be required. Able to operate powered equipment such as forklift or hydraulic jack lift. Effective verbal communication skills. Able to lift up to 50 pounds.

As a Industrial Engineer Intern at one of our Distribution Centers nationwide, you will Discover Different from day one-playing an active part in the daily operations of a multi-million-dollar distribution center. For 12 weeks during the summer, you will join our D/C Engineering team and receive robust training and development through a mix of on-the-job training, and ongoing mentorship from your leadership team. Engineering touches every part of our business. That's where you come in. Through this internship, you'll have the opportunity to: * Lead summer-long process improvement project using the DMAIC process and lean methodologies. * Conducts frequency studies to develop, update, or validate frequencies within standards. * Conduct time studies to validate labor standards. * Utilizes Excel to sort and analyze statistical data from observations and work sampling. * Learn about the company and how the business is run by spending time on the operations floor with area supervisors. * Learn how to utilize JDA for pulling performance reports and job code mapping * You'll also have the opportunity to work on a process improvement project and give a final presentation to Distribution executive team members upon the completion of your internship.
