JOB DESCRIPTION

As a R&D Project Manager II, you will be instrumental in the ongoing success of the top Comparative Rating platforms within the insurance industry. Our Project Managers collaborate with our carrier partners focusing on the delivery of additional inventory to create more choice for our valued agents. In addition, you will work closely with our entire development staff in the coordination of each phase of the development life cycle. This is a fast-paced, ever-changing environment. We continually challenge ourselves to exceed objectives, remove barriers, meet crucial deadlines, and manage multiple projects, all while pioneering ways for efficiency with a team player attitude.

Core Requirements and Responsibilities:

Essential job functions included but are not limited to the following:

  • Working with project teams and stakeholders to successfully plan, execute, monitor, and control software projects in alignment with departmental and company goals, objectives, and urgency.

  • Facilitating cross-functional teams including Developers, QA, Business Analysts, & Deployment, by supporting group progress including scheduling, prioritizing, and expectation setting at all levels of development.

  • Managing activities from project definition and planning through production, release, and into maintenance. Serving as the central resource with process, development, test, and quality, as the product (s) move to production.

  • Managing high-level customer relationships while serving as primary point of contact throughout delivery process to ensure client satisfaction and growth of business relationship while ensuring on-time delivery.

  • Utilizing strong interpersonal skills for excellent communication among team members and clients both written and verbal to effectively deliver software solutions.

  • Utilizing Project Management tools to provide project tracking and status throughout the development lifecycle.

  • Facilitating demonstrations of software applications for internal and external stakeholders highlighting key functionality and alignment across multiple products.

  • Providing technical support including installation and troubleshooting at the product level.

  • Able to provide some guidance to junior team members throughout the development lifecycle as needed to support team success.

  • Solution guidance in solving complex and escalated situations reported through customer support, carriers, and product team. Demonstrate and continue to gain broad technical expertise.

  • Working toward multi product knowledge with the ability to manage with success.

  • You have demonstrated an ability to manage change in project scope including documenting and explaining implications of changes, so they are clearly understood and approved.

  • You have proven ability communicating with the customer to ensure progress is being made and concerns are managed promptly.

  • You are experienced and can handle difficult and escalated situations with leadership involvement as needed.

  • Excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills, able to work effectively with team members and clients to deliver software solutions.

  • Ability to build relationships internally and externally.

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience strongly preferred with 2 years or more of progressive experience with minimal supervision.

  • 4-6 years of project management experience.

  • A minimum of 2 years working in customer relations within the software industry.

  • P & C insurance industry experience is a plus

  • Experienced using Microsoft Office Tools including Outlook, Excel, Word, One Note.

  • Experienced with Project Management tools, including SharePoint, Zoom, Teams

  • Knowledgeable in technology development with proven success articulating knowledge and understanding of API's, XML and JSON transformations

Additional Requirements and Details:

  • Travel required up to 10% of the time.

  • Ability to work remote with a stable internet connection on an as needed basis

  • Located and working from an office location (when required)

  • Occasional lifting and/or moving up to 10 pounds.

  • Frequent repetitive hand and arm movements required to operate a computer.

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision (working on a computer, etc.).

  • Frequent sitting and/or standing.
