Job Description:

PepsiCo's nutrition portfolio is central to the company's future growth. This position is for a dynamic and engaging person well-trained in nutritional sciences or a related life sciences field that has the ability to create and manage an externally leveraged research program that builds credibility for PepsiCo as a Nutrition Company. Key accountabilities include: 1) develop a research program that establishes benefits for consuming nutritious foods; 2) execute that program on time and within budget; and 3) develop and maintain an external network that guides strategies, critiques ideas and informs on scientific trends.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Establish and maintain an open call for proposals research program including management of the submission and review process, contract execution, conducting site visits, overseeing publication of results and communication of program outcomes to key internal stakeholders.

  • Secure and manage annual operating budget for the research program.

  • Ensure research program outcomes are translated into educational materials that broadens the scope of impact for the research investment

  • Conduct and publish meta-analyses and systematic reviews with internal and external collaborators that address the latest science for nutrition benefits of greatest interest from the food categories PepsiCo operates in

  • Represent the research program externally though abstracts and symposia presented at domestic and international scientific conferences

  • Organize and execute an annual scientific conference that facilitates information exchange, idea generation and collaboration among key academic research scientists across multiple disciplines

  • Contribute to the development and execution of employee engagement programs to elevate awareness for the science behind nutrition recommendations and to create a nutrition forward company culture

Qualifications/Requirements

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Ph.D. in Nutrition, Nutrition Sciences or related field

  • 7+ years of research experience (education and work combined) with some experience in an industry environment

  • Excellent organization, presentation, and communication skills

  • Entrepreneurial spirit

  • Ability to build relationships, manage conflict and embrace change

  • Excellent analytical skills and the ability to translate findings into actionable next steps

  • Strategic mindset and strong attention to detail

  • Ability to manage multiple, changing priorities
