Your Role

Join Atlas Copco as a R&D Engineering Specialist where you will be a technical leader of R&D activities and help to improve our technology of engineered to order centrifugal compressors. You will also review and evaluate new technologies as they apply to our products and business. As part of the Research and Development team you will report to the Research and Development Manager. You will work with the R&D engineering teams and help technically support other departments. This is a hybrid position located in Voorheesville, NY.

• You will provide teachnal support for development and production projects which include:

• FEA and CFD analysis of components.

• Support process applications with simulation in fluids, thermodynamics, and controls.

• Create PFD's and P&IDs for new applications.

• Engineering programming using VB, AI, Python, and SQL.

• Participate in the design review process for new products.

• You will help solve field problems.

• You will provide monthly status reports on all projects.

• You will present project statuses at Product Committee Meetings.

• You will support field failure analyses and root cause studies.

To succeed, you will need

• You hold a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.

• You have at least 5 years of experience in machine design using CAD, FEA and/or CFD tools..

• You have proven experience in a role requiring problem-solving abilities.

• You can occasionally travel, including national and international travel up to 5-10% annually.
