The Role
As a mechanical engineer in the R&D department you will work to deliver functional & user-friendly versions of R&D technologies in a timely manner to be used both in the clinic at Andover and on the road across the country. The role will involve working with software engineers to design and develop new methodologies for bringing R&D technology to industrial specifications. Specifically, the role will require you to work with airflow humidity and temperature control systems that respond based on AI algorithms. This will require knowledge of both PLC hardware and programming.
What You'll Do
Identify areas for improvement required in our airflow and PLC projects for proper rollout to clinics and mobile trucks
Create maintenance procedures and tools
Monitor performance of deployed projects
Identifying and resolving bottlenecks in fixing the technology
Collaborating with cross-functional teams to define and design new requirements and features to include panel PLC software
Assist in the design and maintenance of airflow and heating units, ensuring optimal performance through coordination with external partners
Conduct vibration testing to ensure the durability and reliability of mobile units
Oversee the management of airflow, temperature, and heating systems, particularly in clean rooms, ensuring compliance with industry standards
Handle the integration and maintenance of HVAC systems in mobile units, with a focus on shock absorber components
What We Look For
Experience needed for the Role:
Bachelor's degree with 5 years' experience in mechanical engineering. Years of experience may be considered in lieu of education.
Control Systems Experience, to include topics such as:
PLC hardware & programming
Ignition SCADA
Principles of control systems & data integration
Additional Skills and Attributes:
Experience in clean room or HVAC design is a plus
Research experience in ophthalmology related field is a plus
Possess excellent communication skills with the ability to work with cross functional teams
