R&D Lab Technician

Description:

Primary Activities:

Assist study leads with combination drug-device assembly and test sample preparation.

Coordinate gamma irradiation runs (at 3rd party vendor).

Assist study leads with in vitro release study preparation, daily sampling and media replacements.

Handle receiving materials on site and domestic/international shipping (including hazardous materials).

Secondary Activities:

Enable new equipment purchase/implementation and decommissioning/removal of unnecessary or obsolete equipment.

On-site contact person for general laboratory maintenance and facility-related work requests

Work in conjunction with the Safety Team to dispose of lab waste when needed and ensure all safety related issues are promptly addressed.

Monitor space needs, including benches, shelving/storage, temperature-controlled storage, secondary containment and ensure that needs are met.

Maintain laboratory cleaning schedule and organize clean-outs as needed.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

2 or 4 year degree - sciences or engineering field.

Have experience in a lab and knowledge of basic lab safety and documentation.

Demonstrate independence in deciding when to do what and how to prioritize tasks.

Lab oversight / supervision experience would be a plus
