As an intern at Minco, you will work closely with our engineers in an environment that allows you to learn and apply new knowledge and skills which will help you to prepare for a fulfilling engineering career. This is an exciting opportunity to get real life experience in a manufacturing environment. This person will assist the department with engineering tasks in an effort to learn fundamental engineering techniques and responsibilities as they relate to research and development of our products, materials and processes.
Provide support to new product design and verification, set up tests, collect and analyze data, review test results, and draft written results, and make recommendations for design improvements
Apply an understanding of technical engineering principles and practices to collect and analyze data, recognize potential design improvements or problems, and suggest and/or perform additional research and investigation
Record and analyze measurement data to determine capability of meeting customer requirements, and capability of a measurement system.
Participate in projects to provide technical engineering support to manufacturing, design, quality control, and other departments.
Carry out Hands-on laboratory work and provide guidance to department technicians
Apply scientific principles and research practices to the evaluation of new technologies
Serve as a technical resource to other departments on product technologies, testing requirements, specifications and related areas
Actively enrolled in an accredited engineering degree program
Sophomore level completed toward a degree in Physics, Polymer Chemistry, Engineering or other related program
Familiarity with analysis tools and test/inspection hardware and software
Experience with statistics and data analysis
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Computer skills; Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); and other applicable applications including 3D CAD packages (SolidWorks, ProE or similar)
Ability to work 10 to 20 hours per week during school after full time summer hours are complete
Internships are considered temporary positions and are located at our headquarters in Fridley, MN.
