We are seeking an entry level Hardware Electrical Engineer to join our dynamic development team located in Loveland, CO. This position will be part of the Automotive and Energy Solutions (AES) Group within the Electronic Industrial Solutions Group of Keysight Technologies. AES works with industry leaders to develop solutions for market segments related to clean energy storage, smart grid, power semi-conductor, and smart car technologies.

You'll learn how to apply your electrical engineering knowledge and further develop your skills while working with a team of experts to solve real-world problems. You'll have opportunities to travel the world while directly engaging with customers to define, develop, and deploy cutting edge end-to-end solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and qualification of electrical circuitry for measurement solutions.

  • Collaboration with multi-discipline engineering team (HW, FW, ME, SW).

  • Investigate and development of end-to-end processes.

  • Interfacing with customers to provide technical support.

  • Work with cross-functional teams to turn concepts into reality.

Job Qualifications

Required:

  • BS or MS Degree in EE or ECE.

  • Strong knowledge for analog and digital hardware design, data conversion and digital signal processing.

  • Circuit Design Simulation (LTSpice, Cadence, Hyperlynx, Spice, PSpice).

  • The ability to work in a team and across geographic boundaries.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Must be able legally work in the U.S. without requiring present/future sponsorship for employment.

Desired:

  • Experience with FPGA design tools and languages.

  • Programming language experience (C/C++ or C#) and familiarity with modern object-oriented software design methodologies.

  • Familiarity with schematic capture and PCB layout tools and techniques.

  • Proficient with electronic test and measurement equipment.

VIEW JOBS 1/15/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-04-15T00:00 Position Purpose: The Senior Engineer, Electrical reports to the Engineering Leader and is responsible for the independent evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation and modification of standard techniques, procedures and criteria in carrying out a sequence of engineering tasks. This position works under a moderate to low level of supervision. Independent technical decisions on work are covered by precedents; this position seeks direction/guidance on novel or controversial problems. In addition, this position may participate in project-specific relationship building with Customers, Suppliers, individuals or organizations. Essential Functions: * Plans, schedules and coordinates detailed phases of a project. * Devises new approaches to problems encountered. * Participates in and promotes process improvements within assigned areas. * Performs work that involves conventional engineering practices, but includes a variety of complex features, such as conflicting design requirements anddifficult coordination requirements. * Provides direct support of sales, manufacturing, purchasingand development by sharing information in the form of proposals and design reviews. * Independently troubleshoots/analyzes component/system problems. * Independently writes and performs component tests. * Sets technical direction on projects to Level 1 and 2 Engineers and Technicians. * Documents/archives/retrieves drawings from storage system. * Design, support, and/or test of low to moderate to high complexity hardware boards and circuits. * Manage/coordinate all levels of derivatives including task definition and duration estimation. * May participate in international and multi-site projects. Other Functions: May perform the following functions: * Creates and maintains BOMs; releases drawings in WISE. * Enhanced knowledge of main IEC, CE, UL standards. * Setup and support of electronic manufacturing processes. * Support of customers and operations in product related issues. * Layout of high complex hardware boards and derivatives. Materials and Equipment Used: * PC and related equipment Working Environment / Physical Activities: * Work is generally performed in a normal office environment; however, the job may take the member into various areas of the plant where there is possible exposure to noise, chemical solutions, dust and temperatures above 80 degrees F. * Some travel required. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: * Effective written and verbal communication skills including presentations (internal, customers and management); writes and communicates technical reports. Solid technical writing skills (EARS, procedures, reports, etc.). * Competent skills in complex problem solving and trouble-shooting. * Competent in the use of PCs and associated software. * Competent knowledge of appropriate WISE applications such as BOM, Item Master, NCR, Warranty, EC screens and part tracking. * Ability to effectively operate in the project team environment and communicate with Customers. * Working knowledge of standards and the ability to apply complex groupings of standards into designs. * Competent use and understanding ofdesign tools, basic use of DFSS tools and methodologies; competent knowledge of Engineering quality systems (PLC, engineering change, configuration management). Ability to run existing standard tools (e.g. layout tools, circuit analysis, dynamic simulation, etc.). * Assists with development of department and organization procedures. * Complete understanding of component function and testing requirements. * Understands manufacturing processes, drawings and standards. * Effective time management skills. * Company expert on a selected group of productsor technologies.
