R&D Co-Op Engineer

Access Vascular is looking for a co-op to assist in all aspects of product development from concept to manufacturing as a contributing member of the technical team in the research and development department. Overall, co-ops will support design, development and testing supporting an existing product lines as well as future products. Co-ops will be exposed to many different engineering and material science learning opportunities over the course of 6 months as part of a small and fast moving team. This includes the following:

• Test method development

• Product testing

• Maintaining and following design control requirements

• Protocol creation and execution

• Verification and Validation Testing

• Managing the early manufacturing of the product

• Design of experiments

• Conducting laboratory experiments

• Tooling design

• Analyzing, summarizing and disseminating experimental results

• Establishing and managing effective schedule

• Maintaining laboratory notebook

Co-ops are given a great deal of responsibility, and are encouraged to explore creative avenues of pushing the material technology forward.

Access Vascular was founded in 2015 to address the most common and costly complications of intravenous therapy: infection, thrombosis and phlebitis. The company is developing a suite of venous access devices made from patented biomaterials which are highly biocompatible and have demonstrated 6X fewer complications. .
