The Analytical Sciences department in MedImmune, Gaithersburg is seeking motivated candidates to develop analytical methods to characterize biopharmaceutical products throughout the development cycle.
The successful candidate will conduct sample testing for immunoassays with a focus on operation of the GyroLab automated immunoassay platform. The successful candidate will also be responsible for the manufacture and qualification of critical reagents to support immunoassay workflows.
In addition to method development tasks, the candidate will perform analytical method support which includes: development of product specific methods, transfer of methods to internal and external partners, and method qualification for GMP testing. This individual is expected to make detailed observations, analyze data, interpret results, as well as to conduct routine sample testing.
Preparation of technical reports, protocols, and data summaries for presentation is required. The ability to prepare SOPs, to follow policies and regulations, and to perform lab equipment maintenance are critical. Presents findings at internal and/or external meetings, and serves as positive role model to other lab personnel. Good time management and organizational skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced team-centered environment with outstanding multi-tasking skills are a must.
Bachelor's degree with some industry experience preferred
Prior experience with Gyros immunoassay instrumentation and software is required. Experience with GLP/GMP is a plus.
Familiarity with data tracking systems (LIMS) and data analysis software (ex. SoftMax Pro) is desirable.
BS or higher in Biological Science.
Good hands-on skills and familiarity with analytical instrumentations is essential. Strong computer skills, data process and other scientific analysis skills are preferred.
Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and effectively contribute to project teams.
Excellent teamwork, good documentation and communication skills
Good multi-tasking, time management and organizational skills. This individual must have a high level of initiative, independence and the ability to execute lab work under minimal supervision, in a fast-paced environment
