We support clients across the full Electric Vehicle (EV) supply chain in designing their new facilities. Examples include battery cell, EV automotive, CAM (Cathode Active Material), pCAM, graphite, and battery recycling facilities/gigafactories. This position's primary focus is applying your knowledge and experience in one or several Electric Vehicle (EV) and Battery Manufacturing processes to market our expertise, provide guidance to our clients, and develop proposals and execution strategies to deliver manufacturing facilities.

Reporting to the Manager of Engineering for our Electric Vehicle business, you will provide expertise and oversite guiding delivery across several projects and clients, designing and delivering these facilities. We're looking for experienced engineers who are excited about projects which enable the heart of our clients' businesses. You may be an expert Process Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer, Equipment/Mechanical Design Engineer or other similar discipline.

You'll be accountable for schedule and technical quality of challenging engineering tasks, as you gain familiarity with the client's expectations, scope, budget, and schedule. Your multi-discipline, highly interactive team will establish process design basis, develop process options and optimizations of selected design.

In this role, you'll: · Display strong communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work in a fast-paced team environment with multiple deadlines · Assist in project proposals by ascertaining scope, determining the required design budgets and when necessary, serve as subject matter expert (SME) during proposal presentations · Provide leadership and market knowledge as we establish market strategies and evaluate potential opportunities. · Lead the front-end designs, including deliverables such as scope development, conceptual design package, specification development, P&IDs, equipment sizing calculations, sequence of operations and controls philosophy development · Mentor and train colleagues on current technologies, best practices and future developments in your area · Ensure the expectations of the project deliverables are met for your discipline, ensuring the quality, schedules, and budgets · Provide input to the engineering team with regards to the local codes and standards, design scope changes, deliverables, timelines, and provide feedback on deliverables quality. · Provide engineering support to operations to help resolve process bottlenecks and other long-standing issues. Successful candidate will also be expected to provide technical expertise to the engineering/design team and other groups within organization as a subject matter expect (SME) · Review process design work performed by the Process Team to ensure every design maintains the highest level of quality.

Continually develop and improve upon project workflows and standards to ensure each design is consistently excellent. · Participate in executive funding reviews and engineering concept reviews on behalf of our engineering teams. Here's what you'll need: • Design and thought leadership experience, in a role as a Process Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer, Equipment/Mechanical Design Engineer or other similar discipline in the Electric Vehicle, Battery Cell, and/or Battery Materials Manufacturing industry• Bachelor's Degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or relevant professional experience

Experience in Process Design, Process Improvement or Operations within the battery manufacturing supply chain. • Experience with design or operation of manufacturing processes in one of the following areas: o Battery Cells: Lithium-ion, lithium metal, solid state or sodium-ion battery manufacturing processes, including:

Raw Material and Powder Handling, Slurry Mixing, Anode/Cathode Coating and Drying, Exhaust Abatement, Solvent Recovery and Refining, Calendering, Electrode Converting Processes such as Laser Cutting, Slitting, or Stacking, Cell Assembly, Cell Formation, Aging and Inspection, Cell Grading and Packaging o Battery Materials: CAM, pCAM, graphite, silicon anode, and/or lithium refining manufacturing processes such as bulk powder handling, loss in weight feeders, calcination, graphitization, milling, sieving, evaporation, crystallization, and wastewater treatment systems. o Electric Vehicles: module, pack, and vehicle assembly manufacturing processes such as wicking, curing, potting, tray assembly, component installation and cover sealing.• Experienced with design and operation of utility systems such as industrial and process wastewater, chilled water, reverse osmosis/DI water, compressed air, nitrogen gas, specialty chemicals such as NMP or electrolyte, dust collection and other similar systems (preferred)• Possess working knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit MEP, Navisworks, Bluebeam, Plant3D or similar specification development software• Capability to effectively communicate with our clients and across multiple teams Focus and drive to provide technical solutions to our client's business issues Ideally, you'll also have: Fluency in Chinese and/or Korean At Jacobs, we're challenging today to reinvent tomorrow by solving the world's most critical problems for thriving cities, resilient environments, mission-critical outcomes, operational advancement, scientific discovery and cutting-edge manufacturing, turning abstract ideas into realities that transform the world for good.
