Your Opportunity

Stantec's Transportation group has an immediate need for a Rail Designer/Engineer in Training to join our team in Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement track-based, both light and heavy rail, transportation projects.

  • Analyze project requirements.

  • Prepare project specifications.

  • Design and plans production.

  • Deliver conceptual, preliminary engineering and final engineering for rail projects - Field inspection and contract administration for construction.

  • Interaction with clients, consultants and contractors.

  • Some site civil design.

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Experience with MicroStation and/or Civil3D.

  • Experience with other engineering design software such as InRoads/Inrail, GEOPAK Site, or Civil 3D helpful.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software including WORD, EXCEL.

  • Strong math skills including geometry and algebra.

  • Problem-solving abilities to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner and to gather and analyze information skillfully.

  • Prioritizes and plans work activities effectively; uses time efficiently and develops realistic action plans.

  • Self-motivated

Education and Experience
4 year degree in civil engineering (EIT)
1- 5 years civil related transportation design experience

Minimum of 2 year Technical degree (with strong design and software experience considered)
