If this describes you, you may be the right candidate for the Diagnostic Patient Coordinator position at Rush University Medical Center! Position Responsibilities: Scheduling: * Schedule Radiology procedures in a manner that minimizes turnaround time (order placement – exam complete) and maximizes resource utilization. Initiate consultation where necessary * Negotiate scheduling of STAT procedures * Acquire transport/dispatch information * Enter dispatch info into transport system for all inpatient studies * Coordinate the scheduling of multiple exams across sections within Radiology in a manner that minimizes the number of trips to the department for the patient * Participates in the training of new hires or the cross-training of staff to new and/or revised procedures * Applies departmental and Medical Center procedures and guidelines for scheduling and phone etiquette * Responsible for scheduling procedures according to available departmental resources * Reviews radiology orders for completeness of information * Documents patient insurance info for pre-registration clearance. Initiates warm transfers to Patient Access-Admitting when appropriate * Assists with appointment confirmation calls Reception/Greeters: * Greeter Meets and greets patients, family members and vendors * Communicates outpatient arrivals and waiting issues to technical sections * Documents the arrival time of the outpatients in the Radiology Information System * Performs check-in process for outpatients, including assistance with orders, wristbands and labels * Confirms demographic information for outpatients * Creates, edits and scans patient registration documents * Obtains e-signature for HIPAA and Financial Responsibility Agreement * Edits patient visit number for billing accuracy * Assumes ownership of patients and family members in the waiting areas, ensuring they are communicated to and are aware of status of procedures and delays * Assist with escorting patients to the technical areas for their appointments Image Processing: * Receive and process requests for radiology images or reports * Obtain and file required HIPAA Privacy Patient Rights Request Form and Authorization for the release of PHI forms * Processes importing of external images into the institutions PACS archive as per workflow and policy Position Qualifications Include: * High School or GED Equivalent required * Strong interpersonal and communication skills * Ability to perform multiple tasks at one time, good organizational skills * Working knowledge of department and Medical Center preferred Company Highlights: * Ranked among the top academic medical centers in the country, Rush University Medical Center is an outstanding place to enhance your career.
