The Radiology Tech conducts radiologic procedures to provide data to assist in the diagnosis of patients. The position's tasks and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Operates x-ray equipment to make radiographs of designated portions of the body.

  • Under the supervision of a Radiologist, performs x-ray therapy on patients.

  • Explains procedures to patients and addresses their concerns.

  • Positions patients utilizing immobilization devices.

  • May administer barium salts or other chemical mixtures.

  • Operates stationary equipment and/or portable equipment used in the Emergency Department, Operating Room and at patient bedside.

  • Takes pictures and develops film.

  • Monitors, records and communicates as appropriate utilizing computerized documentation systems.

  • Utilizes knowledge of age specific needs of patient in performance of duties and responsibilities.

  • Practices radiation protection techniques to minimize radiation to patient and staff.

  • Provides a safe environment for administering contrast material.

  • Assists with transporting patients.

Our imaging services include: CT Scan, Diagnostic Radiology, Mammography, General and Vascular Ultrasound, DEXA, Digital X-ray

Shift: PRN (Weekday's only, No Weekends, No Holidays)

  • Graduate of an accredited program for Radiographers.

  • ARRT Certification

  • Current state licensure or permit to practice medical imagining

  • Current Certification in Basic Life Support

  • Customer service abilities including effective listening skills.

  • Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to perform work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, lifting of patients and/or equipment up to 50 lbs.

The PRN Mammography Technologist conducts radiologic procedures to provide data to assist in the diagnosis of patients. The position's tasks and responsibilities include but are not limited to. * Performs mammographic breast imaging studies utilizing appropriate positioning techniques and protocols. * Selects proper and accurate technical factors as required to assure consistent optimal image quality and minimize radiation exposure to the patient. Evaluates the quality of all mammographic images. * Demonstrates technical expertise to operate Imaging equipment and obtain high quality films. * Correctly identifies and annotates images. * Obtains and records all pertinent clinical information relating to the procedure. Performs quality control procedures prior to performing clinical procedures and regularly inspects equipment. Reports concerns to Center Administrator. * Ensures that patient results are communicated to referrer in timely and confidential manner. * Ensures all required documentation are completed per established center policy. Completes all written and computer documentation in a timely manner. * Ensures compliance all other applicable regulatory and accrediting agencies. * Plays active role in ACR accreditation and in process/maintenance of Center accreditation. * Actively participates in staff orientation, training, education programs, performance improvement, and quality control activities and initiatives. * Completes on-going continual education to improve job performance, maintain licensure/certification/registration, and stays abreast of current trends and practices.
