Performs CT and/or MRI examinations using the established exam protocols. Under the direction of a qualified physician, the CT technologist will operate a variety of equipment, including an Xray generator, patient table, control console and computer.

The CT Technologist will be responsible for the acquisition, processing, filming, and archiving of all patient data. Under the direction or a qualified physician, the MRI technologist will operate a variety of equipment, including a high field strength magnet, RF transmitter, RF receiver and computer. The MRI Technologist will be responsible for the acquisition, processing, filming, and archiving of all patient data.

Incumbent works independently, under general supervision. Maintain and operate equipment according to manufacturer's operation manual reporting all problems using the established UCDHS Policy and Procedures, Department of Radiology Policy, and Procedures, and AFSCME PCT Agreement. The technologist must act with initiative and responsibility to achieve maximum radiographic quality. They must perform calmly in stressful situations and interact with radiologists, clinicians, and peers in a cooperative, harmonious manner for maximum effectiveness.

Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT)

  • Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT)

  • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) or UC Davis Health CPR

  • Knowledge and ability to operate radiology and auxiliary equipment for assigned modalities to provide quality images.

  • Knowledge of processor maintenance and archiving image data

  • Ability to input and retrieve data to observe applicable Radiology Information Systems (RIS) and Information Services (IS) access codes, security and privacy

Department Description

The Department of Radiology is a 24-hour, seven day a week operation providing Imaging Services for adult and pediatric inpatients and outpatients. Under general supervision, this position will provide technical knowledge and/or coordinates and monitors the delivery of radiological services for adult and pediatric patients at the Placer Center for Health (PCH).
