Radiology Technologist Per Diem (Long Island Region - Babylon, Babylon Village, and Bay Shore)

What you will do:
Operate complex radiology machines in a procedural setting to obtain optimum imaging results, using technical/clinical knowledge and ability.
Prepare patients for radiological procedures and the exam process by performing effective positioning, adjusting immobilization devices, and moving equipment, including C-ARM, according to specific instructions, and adjusting exposure controls.
Minimize radiation exposure by practicing all radiation protection techniques, as well as using beam restrictive devices, patient shielding, and knowledge of exposure factors.
Ensure the functionality of all radiology equipment by following all standard operating instructions, performing any preventive maintenance requirements, troubleshooting malfunctions appropriately, sustaining equipment inventories, and evaluating new equipment/techniques.
Provide support in the event of any clinical complications, including following all drug protocols, administering first aid, and using emergency equipment effectively.
Ensure a safe and clean clinical environment by adhering to all infection control regulations, policies, and procedures.
Requirements
What we require:
A high school diploma or equivalent education.
Successful completion of a Radiologic Technology program accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT).
A valid and current license in the state of employment, if the state offers a licensing certification program.
Valid and current registration with The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), or valid and current registration with an equivalent Radiologic Technology credentialing agency.
A minimum of six months of experience in X-Ray and familiarity with routine medical procedures, preferably in a group practice setting.
Knowledge of EMR and/or Electronic Practice Management systems and technologies, preferably Centricity and Modernizing Medicine.
