Position Purpose

Under the general supervision of the Imaging Manager, this position produces optimal diagnostic images while providing excellent patient care. The incumbent is accountable for individualized patient care while in the Radiology Department.

Nature and Scope

The incumbent must provide optimal patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of neonatal, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients and families. The incumbent must also demonstrate the ability to work with the physical, motor/sensory adaptation, cognitive, and psychosocial needs specific to the population being served and meet standards of quality as measured by the Unit/Department age specific competency standards.

The incumbent must competently operate imaging equipment and related machinery, verify and execute physicians' orders for diagnostic and therapeutic exams while ensuring the proper preparation for such exams and the safety and well being of patients during procedures. Other duties include, but are not limited to, billing, supplies stocking, file maintenance, medical charting, informed consent documentation, quality improvement studies, patient history/symptoms acquisition. Determines the best method of obtaining optimal examinations while ensuring patient safety; regulates patient flow, consults with Radiologists to determine contrast media and makes necessary corrections to improve image quality.

May be required to assist other modalities within the department or Renown Health System. The incumbent is required to perform diagnostic radiographic and fluoroscopic radiographic procedures of the human body utilizing radiographic principles according to the guidelines recommended by Merrill's Anatomy and Positioning reference manual and Renown Regional Medical Center Diagnostic Radiographic Department Policy and Procedure manual.

The Radiologic Technologist must demonstrate competency in the OR Suite, Trauma Suite and portable radiography without assistance on or before the 90 day evaluation. This will be documented by the Imaging Manager and will be an ongoing requirement that will be done annually with their evaluation under the guidance of Renown leadership.

This position does provide patient care.

Education:

Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing and speaking English. Preference will be given to applicants with an Associate degree in Radiologic Technology or completion of AMA approved hospital-based program.

Experience:

License(s):

Requires American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) upon hire.

State of Nevada license for Medical Radiography.

Certification(s):

Must obtain AHA BLS certification within sixty (60) days of employment.

Computer / Typing:

Must possess, or be able to obtain within 90 days, the computers skills necessary to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.

VIEW JOBS 2/28/2021 12:00:00 AM 2021-05-29T00:00 Position Purpose This position is responsible for providing timely preparation and distribution of medications and IV solutions within the hospital in conjunction with established guidelines, policies and procedures, and statutory requirements. Nature and Scope The incumbent is expected to provide optimal patient care by recognizing differences in drug therapy (i.e drug, dose & frequency) in pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. Intra-departmental activities, such as inventory ordering and billing procedures, can be done without the direct supervision of the pharmacist. Incumbent is challenged to assist the pharmacist in the timely and accurate distribution of medications. Questions involving medication use or therapeutics must be referred to the pharmacist and good judgment is required when other types of information is provided by the technician. The incumbent is responsible for entering medication orders into the pharmacy computer system; this involves maintaining and updating the patient pharmacy profile; discrepancies, interactions for outpatient prescriptions and all therapeutic questions are to be referred to the pharmacist. The incumbent prepares medication cassettes and delivers to nursing units throughout the hospital (inpatient only). The incumbent is expected to pull, prepare and label medications based on the orders entered by a pharmacist. The incumbent pulls and delivers medications for automated dispensing machines. The incumbent is challenged to assist in the training of new technicians. The incumbent will be required to work varying shifts and days to meet the needs of the department which operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week (Cost Center 200 only). Overtime may be required. The incumbent is expected to attend on a regular basis staff meetings, technician meetings, etc. In addition to being competent to work in the inpatient & outpatient environments, incumbent is expected to be trained and have the ability to work in multiple areas. This position fills inpatient/outpatient medication orders and must maintain general pharmacy knowledge, knowledge of medications, medication dosage forms, and trade and generic names. Thorough knowledge in preparation of sterile parenteral products using proper aseptic technique, knowledge of pharmaceutical calculations, proper product labeling, and product reconstitution procedures. Thorough understanding of medication order procedures involving the pharmacy computer system. Demonstrates interpersonal skills to maintain effective communication with co-workers, other hospital employees, patients and visitors. Working knowledge of Renown Health and specific departmental policies and procedures, as well as state and federal laws regarding pharmacy. The incumbent may perform other duties as assigned.
