Position Summary

The Radiologic Technologist provides quality care to patients in the Radiology department. This position is responsible for performing X-ray procedures practicing the principles of ALARA exposure, accurate documentation and communication with the radiologists as required.

This position spends the majority of time standing and walking (up to 60% of work time.) Frequent lifting, pushing/pulling and carrying of up to 50 lb. is required when positioning patients and equipment (up to 30% of work time.) This position serves a variety of age groups: Neonates (up to 5% of work time), pediatrics (5%) adolescents (15%), adults (50%), and geriatrics (25%). Other duties may be assigned as needed for the workflow of the Imaging Department.

License/Certifications Required

ARRT certification with an AR State License or ARRT registry eligible with a temporary AR state licensure; BCLS certification is required.

Educational and Skill Competencies Required

Maintain current ARRT certification, Arkansas State Licensure and BCLS. It is the responsibility of the Radiologic Technologist to maintain all required education set by the facility.

Performs a variety of technical functions that require reasonable independent judgment under moderate supervision. This position has exposure to communicable disease, body fluids, radiation, and chemicals. This position spends the majority of time standing and walking (up to 60% of work time.) Frequent lifting, pushing/pulling and carrying of up to 100 lbs. is frequently required when positioning patients and equipment (up to 30% of work time). This position serves a variety of age groups: Adults (up to 39% of the time) and geriatrics (60%). This position will be required to take standby call on nights, weekends and holidays. Other duties may be assigned as needed for the workflow of the Imaging Department. LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED ARRT and Arkansas Radiology Tech licensure and BCLS SPECIFIC EDUCATIONAL AND SKILL COMPETENCIES REQUIRED Requires knowledge of Imaging practices as generally associated with the interventional radiology. Minimum qualification includes ARRT. BCLS is required. Preferred qualifications include 2 years of interventional radiology experience. Effectively administer to the needs of the patient, physician and other team members. Must be proficient in monitoring and scrubbing all interventional radiology cases.
