Research Medical Center is currently looking for a Radiology Technologist

  • FT (No Weekends).

Under limited supervision, the Radiology Technologist completes radiology procedures including fluoroscopic, plain film and myelograms. Technologists participate in Performance Improvement and Quality Improvement activities.

Technologists work within the guidelines established in the policies and procedure manual and complies with all safety and infection control guidelines. Technologists work in accordance with JCAHO, State or other regulatory or accreditation agencies in the performance of their duties.

Shift: M- F, 1430-2300.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited program by the commission on accreditation of allied health education programs, American Medical Association or other accrediting agencies.

  • Knowledge/Professional Licensure/Registration/Certifications: American Registry of Radiology Technology (ARRT) or registry eligible with completion of examination within 12 months of hire to maintain employment. Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS)

  • Experience: Minimum of one year hospital department experience in Diagnostic Radiology and or completion of accredited Radiology program with clinical experience

  • Administrative Skills:
    Able to accurately complete radiology examinations as ordered by the referring physicians. Experience with Radiology information systems to obtain previous examination reports.

  • Equipment/Machine Skills:
    Able to effectively, efficiently and safely operate various types imaging equipment and associated imaging peripherals (CR, PACS, RIS, etc.), following orientation period to the department. Routine use of office equipment (phone, fax, pagers).

  • Other Skills:
    Strong interpersonal skills related to being able to communicate effectively, competently and confidently with all individuals (various types of customers, facility colleagues, etc.). Able to handle periods of intensity with calm. Able to work in stressful situations while maintaining composure and perform required Imaging Services duties regardless of the patient's condition

Roles &Responsibilities: * Underlimited supervision but the direction of the radiologist, the UltrasoundTechnologist completes sonography procedures including routine sonograms aswell as interventional sonograms including biopsies. * Sonographers participate in PerformanceImprovement and Quality Improvement activities. * Sonographers work within the guidelines established in the policies andprocedure manual and complies with all safety and infection controlguidelines. * Sonographers work inaccordance with JCAHO, State or other regulatory or accreditation agencies inthe performance of their duties. Minimum Requirements: Education: Graduatefrom an accredited program in Radiologic Technology and or School ofSonography. Two year program or fouryear BA program in Radiology Technology followed by training in sonography orcompletion of requirements from an accredited school in sonography includingmeeting all clinical requirements. Knowledge/ProfessionalLicensure/Registration/Certifications: Current registration/licensure/certificationin good standing with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers(ARDMS) or American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Must be registered in vascular and a minimumof two of the following areas: OB/Gyn,Abdomen or Breast. Basic Cardiac LifeSupport (BLS) required. As departmentbecomes ACR accredited may be required to obtain specific certifications suchas breast sonography. Experience: Minimumof one-year hospital department experience in medical sonography to includebiopsies. Administrative Skills: Able to accurately complete sonography examinations as ordered byreferring physicians. Experience with radiology information systems to obtainprevious examination reports. Equipment/Machine Skills: Able to correctly and safelyoperate sonographic equipment and perform invasive procedures followingorientation period to the department. Routine use of office equipment (phone, fax, pagers). Other Skills: Able to communicate effectively with all patients, physicians, nursesand other medical personnel.
