Radiological Tech - Employee Health

  • Maintains a professional image and exhibits excellent customer relations to patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers in accordance with our Service Excellence Standards and Core Values.

  • Responsible for performing diagnostic imaging examinations and producing images for use in diagnosis and treatment in the clinical setting. Properly position patients and perform all ordered radiographic examinations.

  • Will work under the direct supervision of the physician or employee/occupational health clinic supervisor.

  • Will assist in obtaining data for assessment as well as assisting the physician/licensed nurse in providing treatment, obtaining vital signs, vision screening, venipuncture, UDS/BAT testing, hair collection, waived testing, wound care, splint application, audiometry, spirometry, EKG, and procedure set up as ordered by the provider.

  • Administers and documents all waived testing according to department procedures in a manner that obtains the necessary medical information while maintaining confidentiality.

  • Maintains stock and cleanliness of the supplies, department and equipment including their calibrations.

  • Ability to document in EMR systems.

  • Other duties as assigned by clinic supervisor.

Work Schedule: PRN (Hours as needed). Will work day shift.

Basic Functions and Responsibilities:

Responsible for performing diagnostic imaging examinations and producing images for use in diagnosis and treatment in the clinical setting. Support daily operations and overall performance of the Occupational Health clinic including patient care, services and related duties. Implement appropriate interventions incorporating the providers prescribed plan of care and under the direct supervision of the provider and clinic supervisor.

Required Skills

Licenses/Certifications/Registrations/Education:

SCRQSA certification required.

ARRT certification - limited license also accepted

Associates degree in Radiography

Instructs new members on the proper use of exercise equipment. * Develops exercise programs incorporating all five components of fitness. * Reviews each member's fitness and medical history prior to initial training/orientation session. * Is prompt and prepared for appointments, shifts, and staff meetings. * Is knowledgeable of MHFC programs and promotes them whenever appropriate. * Promptly returns all member phone calls. * Exhibits good listening skills when member, guest or staff issues arise, and problem solves professionally. Defers to Manager on Duty if issues need further arbitration. * Maintains a neat, clean, and orderly exercise environment. Assists with equipment maintenance as needed. * Conducts fitness assessments and orientations with accuracy and efficiency. * Brings Fitness Services Manager any questions regarding members' special needs or desires. * Does not offer advice outside area of own expertise. * Is a role model of good health and fitness. * Follows the orientation format as outlined by the Fitness Services Manager. * Utilizes Activelinxx Interactive Network Computer System to conduct orientations. * Promotes Activelinxx to all members, potential members and staff. * Sends a minimum of one message per member each month. * Runs Activelinxx performance filters during each shift addressing any requests for review immediately. * Address plateaued, inactive, time for review, and poor attendance members weekly. Follows procedures as outlined by the Fitness Services Manager. * Maintains an accurate member base. * Makes professional phone calls to offer members encouragement and to identify any member concerns or needs. * Develops and maintains computer skills. * Ensures all policies and procedures of the department and the McLeod Health and Fitness Center are being followed by members, guests, and self. * Attends CPR and First Aid practice sessions. * Circulates through the facility to identify any equipment or maintenance concerns. * Attends and actively participates in staff training as scheduled. * Monitors members at all times. * Reports all incidences or injuries using the proper forms and submits to the Manager on Duty. * Cross trains and supports other departments when appropriate. * Interacts with other staff members in a positive, professional manner. Smiles. * Contributes new ideas and suggestions. Takes initiative. * Completes assigned work on times. * Assists the Fitness Services Manager with the distribution of surveys or other mailings. * Ensures proper coverage of shifts by substituting for other staff, as well as finding a substitute for oneself in the case of illness, injury or vacation. * Follows opening and/or closing procedures.
