General Summary The Radiologic Technologist provides patient services utilizing radiologic imaging equipment, making a record of the exam produced for interpretation by the radiologist. May assist in other Medical Imaging divisions as trained. Essential Duties and Responsibilities# Demonstrates schedule flexibility, punctuality and availability, and works well under pressure. Communicates/discusses semi complex or involved information; sets priorities; organizes and coordinates a variety of multiple tasks, prioritizing and managing time effectively; meets and establishes time schedules; and works cohesively with all levels of hospital personnel and physicians. Provides personal care and safe transfers, which includes proficiency with adaptive equipment such as hoyer lifts and sliding boards, demonstration skills as required. Demonstrates solid interpersonal, customer and problem-solving skills. Handles confidential materials, complies with the corporate compliance plan. Participates in hospital performance improvement initiatives as directed. Keeps both patient and significant others informed of exam status. Responds to patient#s request for assistance in a timely manner and follows through to meet patient#s need. Performs patient radiologic services according to department policy and procedures and regulatory agency guidance, interprets physician#s orders accurately, assists in maintenance of patient and department records and ensures patient safety. Job Qualifications Education Graduate of an accredited radiologic technology program required. Work Experience 6 months of experience as registered radiographer is preferred Certification/License A Registered Radiographer

  • ARRT(R), currently registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. Allowances will be made for registry-eligible individual that will attempt registry within 30 days of hire and pass within 90 days of hire. Mental/Physical Requirements (May be met with appropriate accommodations if deemed necessary): Close mental and visual attention required for sustained periods of time. Frequently works under stressful conditions due to demands of customers and the critical condition of some patients. Must be able to transport self throughout department. Standing, walking, sitting, carrying/lifting (up to 35 lbs.), turning, carrying, pushing, pulling and stooping. Working Conditions Potential exposure to infectious diseases, disagreeable odors from patients, anesthetics, disinfectants, and/or chemicals. May be exposed to controlled radiation exposure. Will be subject to call on a regular or as scheduled basis, to include#weekends on a rotating basis. Will be scheduled various shifts and days of the week as necessary to efficiently and effectively provide services.

  • Education
