Radiology Technologist

A Phoenix based surgical center is recruiting a Full Time Radiology Technologist!

This position is an opportunity for a dynamic Radiology Technologist to join a top-notch, surgically-focused hospital that performs over 11,000 procedures a year. This Radiology Technologist shall demonstrate first class customer service.

Job Duties
1.Perform the described duties in the primary work area and demonstrate competency in the following: IV and contrast administration, orthopedic radiology, pediatric radiology, operating room Radiology, trauma Radiology, GI Radiology, outpatient and inpatient diagnostic Radiology, myelography and arthrography.
2.Perform a variety of technical tasks involved in operating x ray equipment to make radiographs of designated portions of the body as specified by physician; adjust equipment for proper exposure, voltage and current in accordance with prescribed radiation safety procedures.
3.Determine, prepare and set up medical supplies, instruments and equipment; explain x ray procedures to patients; position patients for each anatomical view specified using immobilization and protective devices as required; report any changes in patient condition to attending medical staff.
4.Monitor accessory equipment and assist attending physician with fluoroscopic examinations and special radiographic studies.
5.Record amount and type of film exposed; label film with identifying information; sort as required.
6.Consult with lead x-ray tech and radiologist to ensure compliance with established standards of quality.
7.Process film in accordance with standardized procedures and maintain assigned work area in clean and orderly condition.

Required Skills

EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Graduate of an accredited program in Radiological Technology.

  • AART Registered and CPR Current.

  • Knowledgeable of local, state, federal and Joint Commission Regulations.

  • Must possess independent decision making skills.

  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects.

  • Excellent communication skills with the staff, physicians, patients and families.

  • Must be able to communicate verbally and non-verbally in a professional way.

The primary purpose of this position is to perform radiographic diagnostic imaging procedures to assist physicians in the diagnosis of disease and injuries. Operates the radiographic equipment to produce radiographic recorded images of the body. Performs technological functions to ensure optimal diagnostic quality of patient care utilizing efficient and safe processes.<br />  </p> <p>This position is based at our Glendale practice but may require occasional travel to other AARA sites as required.</p> <p>We offer a competitive compensation and benefits package to include: Medical, dental, life insurance, 401k, PTO pay and holidays.<br />  </p> <p>Requirements</p> <p><strong>QUALIFICATIONS / CERTIFICATIONS:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Associates degree or bachelor’s degree in applied radiologic science or certification from an accredited radiologic technology program.</li> <li>Registration as a technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)</li> <li>Certification by the Medical Radiologic Technology Board of Examiners (MRTBE).</li> <li>Ability to assist management with quality control tasks and/or administration of daily site schedules.</li> </ul> <p><strong>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES REQUIRED: </strong></p> <ul> <li>Knowledge of radiographic examinations including procedures that require the use of contrast agents.</li> <li>Knowledge of radiographic equipment operation and radiation safety.</li> <li>Knowledge of patient transfers and positioning techniques.</li> <li>Must be able to closely follow physician instructions and obtain optimal images for diagnosis.</li> <li>Must be able to communicate calmly, compassionately, and professionally with all different types of patients exercising excellent customer service skills.</li> <li>The ability to work effectively with other employees and maintain a cooperative working relationship intra-departmentally and inter-departmentally.</li> <li>The ability to handle multiple tasks.</li> <li>The demonstration of ethical and professional conduct, including the ability to maintain confidentiality (HIPAA).</li> </ul> <p><strong>ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT: </strong></p> <ul> <li>The ability to move equipment if applicable.</li> <li>The ability to lift 50 pounds, to transport and position patients safely. Proper lifting techniques required.</li> <li>The ability to wear protective lead aprons and lead gloves during examinations.</li> <li>The manual dexterity sufficient to operate radiographic equipment.</li> <li>Hearing and visual acuity sufficient to perform examinations, observe patients, read monitors and documents, and hear equipment alarms.</li> <li>Visual acuity includes the ability to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).</li> <li>Requires considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.</li> <li>The ability to work within a limited space and in bright and low-lighted examination rooms.</li> <li>Subject to normal occupational hazards for employee in medical imaging field.
