Provides a variety of quality radiographic imaging including under the general direction of a physician, fluoroscopy on all age groups served by the entity insuring the principles of ALARA are achieved. Participates in the department quality improvement processes insuring a high level of customer satisfaction is maintained. Depending on departmental business needs, this position will support department's patient workflow such as front desk duties, phlebotomy, EKG, vital signs, patient in-take, and other duties as assigned and supported by scope of practice.

High School Diploma, Certificate of Attendance, Certificate of Completion, or GED required. Graduate of an approved AMA Council on Education Program in Radiologic Technology.

RRT ARRT Registered Technologist-Radiography. One year experience in an acute care setting preferred.

Must complete and maintain in the Career Ladder Portfolio in order to be considered for Radiology Tech 2

  • Certified Radiology Technologist required

  • BLS Certification required

Depending on departmental business needs, may be required to be competent in skills such as vitals signs, phlebotomy, EKG, front desk duties including quick registration, etc. Change agility and flexibility a must.

A related responsibility is for assisting radiologists or other medical specialists in performing fluoroscopic procedures. Employees in this classification operate stationary and mobile x-ray equipment for diagnostic purposes, taking chest, body section, and other radiographs. Experience: No experience required. Education: Graduation from an accredited School of Radiologic Technology. Licensure Certification: Florida state license as a Radiology Technologist required. Employees hired BEFORE 2/1/2017 MUST obtain the required ARRT Certification by 12/31/2019. Employees who have completed training at JHS may be granted a grace period of 6 months upon hire to obtain the required certification. Any new hires with external training must have the required certification at the time of hire. American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification with at least 6 months validity required.
